The Director, Business Oversight is responsible for client communications, managing strategic relationships, and minimizing operational issues in clinical research.

Director, Business Oversight acts as the senior-most point of contact for client communications and escalations. This role has three core responsibilities:
- Acting as an internal and external escalation point to protect and promote PSI’s business interests
- Managing and strengthening strategic relationships with key clients
- Developing and implementing trainings and processes aimed at minimizing or eliminating operational issues.
Protect PSI Business Interests
- Minimize the potential for client relationship issues by establishing and setting boundaries early in project life cycle, and implementing prophylactic measures designed to protect PSI.
- Participate in client-facing steering, governance or oversight committees.
- Act as an internal and external escalation point with direct line of communication to Head, Business Oversight.
Managing Strategic Relationships
- Engage clients to develop and manage strategic business relationships. Contact clients on an ongoing basis to build positive relationships based on partnership.
- Assess key client relationships regularly.
- Communicate with clients based upon client issues and/or assessment of client relationship.
Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Provide guidance and support to Project Managers and Project Supervisors in resolving client issues that impact the business relationship or PSI's strategic interests.
- Resolve cross-departmental client concerns with focus on prioritizing and protecting PSI’s business interests above those of any particular department.
- College or university degree is required.
- At least 10 years of industry experience in clinical research.
- Understanding of commercial, operational, legal, and financial aspects of clinical research
- Prior experience in an international CRO is a plus
- Experience in negotiating and addressing business considerations and concerns with sponsors is preferred
- Ability to travel for sponsor and department meetings as needed.
