Job Description:

The Associate, Alternative Investment Strategy will focus on Fidelity’s Personal Investing (PI) channel. The PI channel supports Fidelity’s High Net Worth clients providing financial planning and advice.  This person will be aligned with 4 regions assisting the Vice President, Alternative Strategies with the following:  develop and report on investor/rep analytics; highlight high value areas for the strategists; provide support in the completion of documentation, and problem solve, and collect feedback from reps and clients.  This person will gain a full understanding of the PI Channel

This person needs to be proficient with fund structures and suitability requirements to invest in alternative products. The person needs to be able articulate the investment process and positioning across a suite of asset management’s alternative products. The person needs to be responsive and willing to work with both PI advisors as well as their clients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and will need to collaborate with other Fidelity groups to respond to advisor and client inquiries timely and accurately. 

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Progress towards CFA or CAIA encouraged.

  • Series 7 and 63 (or equivalent).

  • Strong knowledge of private placements and the Fidelity Personal Investing organization.

  • Proven success with business development, intermediary distribution, investor relations and/or wealth management is preferred.

  • 2-4 years or greater experience in the investment or wealth management industry, with a history of successfully leading multiple client relationships for a portion of that time.

  • Asset management client relationship experience preferred.

  • Proficient in promoting multi-asset class investment solutions.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills needed to present, deliver, and articulate Fidelity’s positioning and development of existing and new products.

  • Ability to discuss complex issues and communicate them in writing to key constituencies in a straightforward manner.

  • Strong consultative, relationship-based selling skills.

  • Keen intellect, quick study of complex subjects and strong market knowledge of the Firm’s competitive position within discrete markets.

  • Outstanding collaboration skills, ability to work appropriately with portfolio managers, product development, legal, compliance and operations.

  • Proven ability to work across a complex organizational culture.

  • Expand new business opportunities with Accredited Investor & Qualified Purchaser prospects - particularly with sophisticated HNW clients, while teaming with VP, Alternative Strategists

  • Develop a significant internal voice on behalf of the alternative product set with regards to the Fidelity Personal Investing community

  • Ability to be innovative with ideas for improving our client experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, influencing, and consultative skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects.

  • Proactive follow up on leads, coordinating and scheduling events, and general inbox coverage supporting different products.

  • Passion for financial markets, investment process and provision of effective investment solutions.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
