Job Description:
At Chewy, we strive to be the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners - vets and service providers - alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That's why we continue to think outside the Chewy box to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers!
Our Opportunity
Chewy is seeking a Director, Agentic Performance Marketing to accelerate the evolution of our lower-funnel performance engine, transforming how we acquire, convert, and retain customers through data, automation, and AI. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Boston, or Seattle, this role reports to the Vice President of Performance Marketing and is responsible for building and scaling the next generation of lower-funnel marketing systems that drive customer growth, efficiency, and profitability.
This leader will guide Chewy's shift from channel-based execution to an agentic growth system-owning strategy, performance, and automation across Paid Search, Product Listing Ads (PLA/Shopping), Dynamic Product Ads (DPA), Display Retargeting, and Affiliate Marketing. The ideal candidate combines deep channel expertise with a builder's mindset-leading the integration of AI-driven, automated workflows that allocate budget, optimize creative, and improve return on marketing investment.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of marketing automation at Chewy, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to scale intelligent systems that power measurable business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Strategy, Performance, and Growth
  • Lead the evolution of Chewy's lower-funnel marketing into an intelligent, agentic system powered by data, automation, and AI.
  • Own portfolio strategy, budgets, and performance across key acquisition channels including Paid Search, PLA/Shopping, DPAs, Display, and Affiliate.
  • Develop and implement integrated growth strategies that balance customer acquisition, retention, and contribution margin.

Automation, Measurement, and Optimization
  • Partner with Product, Marketing Science, and Engineering to design and scale AI-enabled decision systems that optimize spend, creative, and audience targeting.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation-testing creative frameworks, bidding models, and targeting strategies to improve Return On Investment and LTV.
  • Build automation and measurement infrastructure in collaboration with Analytics to improve signal fidelity and speed of decision-making.
  • Translate insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Leadership and Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of performance marketers and data specialists.
  • Partner with Finance, Merchandising, and Supply teams to align marketing levers with business priorities and inventory dynamics.
  • Influence cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, and Creative to accelerate adoption of automation and AI capabilities.

What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of progressive performance marketing or growth experience, with at least 3-5 years managing multi-channel lower-funnel programs at scale..
  • Proven ownership of large budgets and accountability for both growth and profit outcomes.
  • Deep expertise across Paid Search, PLA/Shopping, DPAs, and Affiliate Marketing.
  • Strong understanding of marginal returns, constrained optimization, and marketing measurement (MMM, MTA, and incrementality testing).
  • Experience implementing or managing automation and AI-driven marketing systems.
  • Advanced analytical skills; proficiency with SQL and comfort working with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels and lead through change.

The base salary range for this role is $170,500 - $297,500.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

We offer different types of insurance and benefits, such as medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.
Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
