As a Director, Commercial Consulting, you will be at the center of a successful global consulting organization, assisting clients including biopharmaceutical and generic manufacturers, device and diagnostic companies, and financial, legal and investment firms – to maximize commercial success through advanced strategic problem solving, market research, analytics, project planning, and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Manage consulting projects and people management through mentoring, coaching, and day-to-day team oversight.
- Shape project strategies and contribute to internal business planning initiatives.
- Manage 5+ Projects, actively supporting BD, "organic" sales
- Directly selling new accounts.
- Builds strong client relationships, manages stakeholder expectations, and handles difficult conversations effectively.
- Anticipate project challenges, proactively designs mitigation strategies, and provides thought leadership. Make strategic and operational decisions within projects; escalates company-level issues to leadership.
- Lead teams, including senior colleagues, while mentoring and coaching junior staff and promoting the company's values.
- Deliver strategic insights and solutions that drive business growth and innovation.
- Analyze market trends, evaluate business models, and support clients in commercialization, new product planning, product launch, and marketing / sales projects.
- Analyze market dynamics, product strategies, and access barriers.
- Analyze data and client challenges, providing insights and solutions.
- Make decisions within own work and project scope; consult senior colleagues for broader implications.
- Develop white papers, industry reports, and client presentations.
- Stay current on emerging trends in life sciences and healthcare policy.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervise 3-5 employees
Education, Experience, Training, and Knowledge
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field required, advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or MSc) preferred.
Experience:
- 6 - 8 years of experience in management consulting, life sciences strategy roles, or a relevant field.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communications abilities, i.e., written, oral & presentation skills.
- Recognized (within the company and in the market) as possessing expert knowledge in specific industries and/or functional solutions both externally & internally.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Project management and scope direction experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent presentation & moderating skills.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical and life science industries.
- Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-starter and drive
- Ability to multi-task with superior organization skill
- Strong ability to work independently as well as be an integral part of a team
- Dependable and flexibl
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visi
- Ability to work in a global environment with an understanding of cultural differences and work practices
