About the Company

Why We Built Lyric: Supply chains are more critical and complex than ever. Every day, large enterprises navigate trillions of possible decisions that could impact the bottom line. Powerful algorithms and AI can address these problems, yet most organizations struggle to leverage supply chain AI at scale. The current SCM technologies are either rigid, limited-scope point solutions or custom solutions built in-house, which demand immense expertise and investment.

That is…until now.

Enter Lyric: Lyric is an enterprise AI platform built specifically for supply chains, offering the best of both worlds:

  • Out-of-the-box AI solutions for optimizing networks, allocating inventory, scheduling routes, planning fulfillment capacity, promising orders, propagating demand, building predictions, analyzing scenarios, and more, plus

  • A platform-first approach that empowers both business and technical users with end-to-end product composability, leveraging no-code tools, their own code, or even forking our code to build and refine supply chain decision intelligence

With Lyric, enterprises no longer have to choose between flexibility and speed, they get both.

The Mission: We’re building a new era in supply chain with the team best equipped to lead it. With over 20 years at the intersection of supply chain and algorithms, we developed a deep conviction that global supply chains needed something like Lyric. Since our inception in December 2021, that conviction has been validated time and time again.

Today, a growing number of Fortune 500 companies, including Smurfit WestRock, Estée Lauder, Coca-Cola, Nike, and more, are innovating on their own terms with Lyric. We can’t wait to see what our customers, both current and future, are empowered to build with us next. Come build with us!

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking accounting leader to join Lyric’s finance team as our first Director of Accounting, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You’ll be responsible for building and leading the accounting function that underpins our global growth, spanning multiple entities and jurisdictions. As our go-to expert for all things accounting and compliance, you’ll set the bar for accuracy, drive automation and AI adoption, and give the business the clarity it needs to move fast and scale with confidence.

From closing the books and mastering revenue recognition to keeping us audit-ready and tax compliant, you’ll design the systems and guardrails that keep our financial house audit-ready and investor-grade. You’ll partner closely with our Head of Finance to turn numbers into insights, support strategic initiatives, and ensure our financial operations can scale as quickly as our business.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role where no two days will look the same. You’ll shape how our finance function operates, collaborate with teams across the US and India, and ensure our processes are as modern, automated, and nimble as the rest of our company. If you’re excited to build from the ground up, embrace new technology, and lead with both precision and vision, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, AP/AR, payroll, and expense management.

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 340-40, stock-based compensation, deferred revenue, and other SaaS-related standards.

  • Oversee multi-entity consolidations and global accounting operations across the US, India, and other jurisdictions.

  • Design and implement internal controls and policies to maintain audit readiness and regulatory compliance.

  • Manage tax filings, audits, and statutory compliance worldwide, partnering with external advisors where appropriate.

  • Work closely with the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and supporting fundraising, due diligence, audits, and investor reporting

  • Manage current operations in QBO while preparing for migration to an AI-native ERP (e.g., Rillet, Campfire)

  • Evaluate, implement, and optimize finance systems and AI-driven tools to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and scale efficiently

About You

  • CPA strongly preferred, with 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting

  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, internal control frameworks, and technical accounting standards relevant to the software industry

  • Experience in SaaS, technology-enabled services, or subscription-based revenue models, with proven success building finance functions in early- or growth-stage companies

  • Proven track record leading full-cycle audits and managing compliance across multiple entities

  • Strong ERP experience, with the ability to lead system implementations and prepare for migration from QuickBooks to a scalable, AI-first finance stack.

  • A hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, balancing precision with the need for speed

We’re Also Looking For

  • Experience with global teams:

    • You have hands-on experience managing accounting across multiple entities and consolidating global financials.

    • You know how to navigate the complexities of operating in different jurisdictions while maintaining accuracy and compliance. With Lyric’s growing presence in both the US and India, you excel at building strong relationships with distributed teams, aligning priorities across time zones, and fostering inclusive communication that drives results.

Location: Remote - US; strong preference for Eastern Standard (EST)

Compensation: The base cash compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000. Base cash will be determined based on years of experience, with an additional variable compensation that is earned based on individual & business performance. You will also have the opportunity to receive equity in Lyric.
