Mimecast is seeking a Director, Accounting Operations to lead our global Payroll and Accounts Payable teams. This is a high-impact role designed to drive the transformation of these critical functions, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and scalability as Mimecast continues its global growth. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading global teams, implementing best practices, and driving process and system improvements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What You'll Do:

Leadership and Strategy

  • Oversee Mimecast’s global Payroll and Accounts Payable (AP) operations.

  • Provide strategic direction to transform and optimize these functions to meet the needs of a growing global organization.

  • Evaluate current practices and identify opportunities to implement best-in-class processes and technologies.

  • Partner with Accounting Controllers globally, Treasury, and Finance teams to deliver accurate cash disbursement forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall financial strategies.

Global Compliance and Policy Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and country-specific requirements for both Payroll and AP.

  • Develop, publish, and maintain global policies and processes, ensuring regular reviews and updates to reflect business and regulatory changes.

Payroll Operations

  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources’ Operations and Compensation teams to ensure alignment between payroll processes and organizational goals.

  • Own the evaluation and strategy for corporate payroll systems, ensuring scalability and efficiency across all locations.

  • Monitor and enhance payroll operations globally, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

Accounts Payable Operations

  • Partner with Procurement and key business owners to manage vendor relationships and optimize AP processes.

  • Lead efforts to organize, streamline, and scale the AP function globally, ensuring efficient workflows and effective controls.

Transformation and Process Excellence

  • Drive end-to-end process improvements across Payroll and AP to enable scalable and efficient operations.

  • Lead technology and system enhancements to support process automation and data accuracy.

What You'll Bring:

  • Expertise in Accounting Operations with a focus on global Payroll and Accounts Payable management.

  • Proven track record of managing and developing global teams.

  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements related to Payroll and AP across multiple regions.

  • Experience in process transformation and implementing best practices to support business growth.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across HR, Procurement, and other business units.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate systems, recommend improvements, and lead implementation initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on driving results in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience with global payroll systems and accounts payable platforms.

  • Background in technology or SaaS industries is a plus.

  • Proven success in process automation and scaling operations globally.
