WEX simplifies the business of running a business through smarter workflows and financial intelligence. Our North America Mobility and OTR businesses power the fleets that keep commerce moving — from small owner-operators to large fleet enterprises.

As our portfolio evolves across fuel, EV, and telematics, we are seeking a Director of Product Marketing who can elevate how we position, launch, and scale products — ensuring innovation translates into measurable revenue impact.

About The Role

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for transforming and scaling the Product Marketing function across a high-impact, multi-segment portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure product launches drive revenue — not shelfware

  • Shift roadmap conversations from reactive feature development to market-informed strategy

  • Elevate sales enablement from asset production to revenue acceleration

  • Establish Product Marketing as a trusted strategic partner to Product and Sales leadership

This role reports to the VP of Product Marketing and is designed for a leader capable of operating at enterprise scope over time.

What You’ll Own

Portfolio Strategy & Revenue Impact

  • Own positioning, segmentation, and go-to-market strategy across Fuel, EV, Telematics, and OTR.

  • Ensure launches translate into measurable business outcomes, including pipeline creation, win-rate improvement, adoption acceleration, and retention impact.

  • Establish post-launch performance reviews and revenue accountability loops.

  • Identify whitespace and growth opportunities across segments.

Market-Led Roadmap Influence

  • Serve as the voice of the market in roadmap planning and investment discussions.

  • Introduce structured validation processes grounded in customer insight, usage data, and competitive intelligence.

  • Influence pricing, packaging, and portfolio tradeoffs to align with revenue strategy.

Strategic Sales Enablement

  • Partner with Sales leadership to define stage-specific enablement that improves deal velocity and close rates.

  • Shift the organization from reactive one-pager production to disciplined, outcome-driven sales motions.

  • Ensure sellers are equipped with differentiated narratives that resonate across segments.

PMM Operating Model & Governance

  • Establish launch tiering, prioritization, and resource allocation frameworks to focus on highest-impact initiatives.

  • Define clear engagement models with Product, Sales, Marketing, and CX.

  • Build scalable processes that increase speed-to-market while maintaining strategic rigor.

Talent & Team Leadership

  • Build and develop a high-performing PMM team capable of operating as strategic advisors.

  • Coach PMMs to deepen business acumen, executive presence, and cross-functional influence.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, insight-driven thinking, and ownership.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of B2B Product Marketing experience in SaaS, fintech, mobility, or complex workflow platforms.

  • Experience owning or materially influencing revenue performance in a multi-segment B2B environment.

  • Proven track record building or evolving a Product Marketing function in an ambiguous or growth-oriented organization.

  • Demonstrated success turning launches into revenue performance.

  • Experience influencing executive-level stakeholders and shifting cross-functional behavior.

  • Deep understanding of complex sales motions and stage-based enablement strategy.

  • Strong business acumen and comfort engaging in portfolio tradeoffs, investment decisions, and revenue planning.

  • Ability to zoom out to shape strategy and zoom in to drive disciplined execution.

  • Experience operationalizing modern tools (including AI) to improve PMM velocity and insight generation.

  • Mobility, fleet, or transportation experience is a plus but not required.

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
