About the Opportunity: We are a leading SaaS-based financial technology firm specializing in mortgage servicing solutions, and we are seeking a Director, Product Compliance to contribute to the development of best-in-class loss mitigation solutions. In this role, you will help ensure our loss mitigation products align with federal and state regulations, investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA), and industry best practices. You will work cross-functionally with Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to drive initiatives that support regulatory adherence while enabling product innovation.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Strategic Compliance Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product compliance strategy to ensure our loss mitigation software solutions align with all relevant regulations and investor requirements.
  • Serve as a compliance subject matter expert (SME) on mortgage servicing regulations, including RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, CFPB servicing rules, escrow management, loss mitigation, and foreclosure processing.
  • Partner with the Product and Compliance teams to proactively assess regulatory changes and drive updates to product functionality in response to new requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance:

  • Lead collaboration between Product and Engineering to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle for loss mitigation solutions.
  • Consult on development of product service offerings that support loss mitigation, claims, and invoicing functionality on the Dara suite of products.

Regulatory Change Management & Product Enhancement:

  • Analyze new and evolving mortgage servicing regulations and translate them into actionable product requirements to support continued compliance.
  • Drive compliance-related product enhancements that improve operational efficiency while ensuring regulatory alignment.
  • Advocate for and implement automated compliance solutions to streamline servicing operations and regulatory reporting.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Engage with a team of compliance professionals and business analysts to foster a culture of compliance awareness, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance best practices, regulatory changes, and risk mitigation strategies with a focus on loss mitigation technology needs.

 

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Law, or relevant discipline with 6 - 8 years of experience in a related field, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a SaaS or financial technology company.  Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations, federal/state compliance requirements, and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA.)
  • Proven experience in loss mitigation, claims, and invoicing along with regulatory change management, risk assessment, and compliance governance in a technology-driven environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into business and technical requirements for product teams.
  • Experience working with mortgage servicing platforms, loan accounting systems, and compliance monitoring tools.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to achieve goals through others.
  • Exceptional operational and strategic management capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of product life cycle management.
  • Advanced proficiency in applying design thinking techniques for product feature definition.
  • Deep familiarity with agile development techniques and tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
