JOB SUMMARY

The College of Science is seeking a communications professional to join the Marketing & Communications team within the Office of the Dean. The goal of this position is to support efforts to elevate the College’s reputation and mission, attract top students and faculty, amplify research and achievements, and strengthen connections with our COS community.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of social media platform management and email marketing platforms
  • Experience in Wordpress, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and DSLR is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong editing and writing skills
  • Ability to navigate evolving priorities while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Able to work in a team and independently
  • This position requires occasional availability beyond standard business hours to support special events such as Commencement.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Internal and External Communications Support: This position will assist with drafting and scheduling emails and newsletters to faculty, staff, students, families, and alumni using Outlook and Mailchimp. This person will also be responsible for drafting and scheduling social media content across COS active channels.
  • Event support: The person in this role will support major events including Giving Day and Commencement/College Celebrations in a communications capacity, and in other ways as needed.
  • Content Creation and Content Editing: Assist with curating and crafting content – both written and design - that highlight faculty research breakthroughs, student accomplishments, and department initiatives.
  • Website maintenance: This position will assist with website and intranet updates as requested.
