About Us:
Job Description:
We’re growing our team of highly-engaged Engineers who care about the "why" behind our work and each other. Our Digital Innovation group is leading the charge on digital products and services within the business through thoughtful iteration, diverse technical skill, autonomy, and our strong sense of ownership.
We’re working hard to find clarity and focus to solve the right problems, measuring impact, and refining solutions based on outcomes. You’ll be joining a collaborative, high trust, energized environment where Engineers are trusted to lead initiatives, contribute to architectural direction, and influence how we build — not just what we build.
This role is for a seasoned Engineer who brings experience building and shipping software products, not just delivering client requests. You’ve led technical projects, shaped cloud architectures, mentored others, and know how to drive iteration without losing sight of the bigger picture. You communicate clearly, elevate the teams around you, and thrive in ambiguous environments where business context and engineering excellence meet.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

- Introduce and lead the adoption of new practices and tools.
- Accelerate continuous improvement through coaching and leadership by example.

- Define architectural principles, patterns and frameworks to guide software design and development across the team.
- Ensure adherence to technical strategies and architectures.

- Provides feedback to peers to address individual issues.
- Encourages skill development in line with team and personal goals
.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, STEM or equivalent experience. A master’s degree is preferred.
- 6–10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Substantial experience mentoring junior and peer software engineers.
- Proven track record of technical leadership, architectural responsibility, and strategic impact across multiple teams or projects.
- Experience designing scalable, resilient cloud-native systems and guiding others in cloud architecture.
- Experience leading design for complex systems and driving convergence toward architectural standards.
- Experience leading infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, etc.) efforts, defining patterns and usage.
- Experience designing deployment strategies using Docker, Kubernetes, etc. at scale.
- Advanced skills in TypeScript and associated tools (npm, Node.js, etc.) with experience developing new patterns and standards across one or more workgroups.
- Experience driving team adoption of delivery and quality improvements.
- Experience leading stack or UI architecture decisions; ensures alignment with UX and engineering standards.
- Experience establishing robust pipelines including test gates, rollbacks, and parallelization.
- Experience as a champion or secure, compliant, and scalable design across teams.
Personal Attributes
- Proactively anticipates and quickly adopts innovative digital technologies and solutions that drive success.
- Effectively plans, organizes, and prioritizes tasks, aligning team efforts with organizational objectives and deadlines.
- Consistently holds self and team accountable for meeting commitments and achieving results.
- Builds productive partnerships and collaborates effectively across teams to achieve common goals.
- Analyzes and synthesizes complex and ambiguous information to effectively solve challenging technical and business problems.
- Actively identifies and implements efficient processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Applies a solid understanding of business and market dynamics to shape technology strategies that advance organizational goals.
