About the Opportunity
Job Summary
The Digital Engagement Producer creates personalized, engaging digital experiences for our award-winning daily news operation (Northeastern Global News) and digital newsletters, supporting the university’s Communications strategy focuses on promoting the university, its faculty, students, and community by showcasing leadership and innovation across the enterprise. Drive audience growth and engagement through strategic content production and optimization.
Optimize digital newsletters and implementing strategies to grow newsletter audience, and drive readers to news platforms, while also packaging and producing high-quality content for news website. Collaborate with digital, social, and editorial teams and use data-driven personalization, A/B testing, and innovative content formats to deliver digital experiences that engage users.
The position is based on the Boston campus. After-hours and weekend work are routinely required.
Minimum Qualification
Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor degree and 2-4 years of experience in digital content production, email marketing, and audience growth. Experience in higher education is not needed, nor is it desired.
A demonstrated ability to grow newsletter subscriber bases and improve user engagement metrics
Effective experience with email marketing automation platforms (Mailchimp preferred)
Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress preferred)
Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, email performance tracking)
Basic understanding of SEO best practices
Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy, consistency, and quality in content production
Collaborative team player who works effectively with cross-functional teams
Creative problem-solver who can balance engaging content creation with data-driven decision making
Highly motivated with an enthusiasm for testing new approaches and optimizing content performance

Key Accountabilities & responsibilities :
Newsletter Audience Growth (60%)Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to grow our newsletter subscriber base and improve our user engagement metrics
Design and implement A/B testing for email campaigns to optimize open rates and click-through rates
Monitor email performance metrics and continuously optimize campaigns based on engagement data
Implement strategies to convert website visitors into newsletter subscribers
Analyze subscriber data to identify growth opportunities and optimize content delivery timing
Package and optimize news stories for enhanced web presentation and user engagement
Collaborate with the editorial team to transform news content into engaging digital formats
Optimize all web content for SEO, accessibility, and user experience to maximize reach and engagement
Work with the digital team to develop multimedia storytelling formats that drive deeper engagement
Ensure consistent, high-quality content delivery across the website and newsletters

$59,425.00 - $83,935.00With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
