At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, we have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Manager. This role will oversee and maintain content across the organization’s public websites and Martech platforms, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and brand alignment. This role works closely with the Marketing team to deliver timely, engaging, and compliant digital content that supports member engagement, health education, product awareness, and organizational goals. The ideal candidate brings a balance of marketing acumen, digital operations expertise, and a deep understanding of content governance within a regulated healthcare environment.

This position is eligible for the flex persona.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications teams to plan, update, and publish content for health plans, wellness programs, provider networks, and corporate initiatives.
  • Manage ongoing website updates using enterprise CMS platforms (Acquia Drupal, Site studio, or similar).
  • Ensure that all digital content reflects the organization’s voice, values, and compliance standards, including regulatory and legal approvals.
  • Monitor and maintain consistency in messaging across multiple business lines and audience segments (members, providers, brokers, employers, etc.).
  • Manage content updates for federally mandated Medicare sites and plan pages, ensuring CMS guidelines and accuracy during the annual and open enrollment periods.
  • Work in close alignment with Marketing, Compliance, Legal, and Product teams to ensure all published materials meet healthcare regulations, adhere to HIPAA and brand guidelines.
  • Translate campaign briefs, product updates, and creative concepts into digital-ready content.
  • Support the Marketing team with web assets for integrated campaigns (emails, landing pages, digital banners, etc.).
  • Partner with Marketing Operations to ensure accurate tagging, analytics tracking, and personalization.
  • Coordinate with data and analytics teams to monitor engagement metrics and optimize performance across channels.
  • Maintain content governance processes, version control, and archiving for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Perform quality assurance checks for accessibility (WCAG 2.1), responsive design, and cross-browser functionality.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure removal of outdated or non-compliant materials.
  • Document publishing standards, review workflows, and escalation procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in digital content management within a healthcare, insurance, or regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (Acquia Drupal, Site studio, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Martech tools, SEO, and analytics (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology, member communications, and compliance workflows.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Basic HTML/CSS and UX awareness preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: 

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Compliance, and IT teams in a healthcare organization.
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to adapt content for diverse audiences (members, providers, brokers).
  • Understanding of healthcare content governance, including version tracking and approval processes.
  • Proactive mindset for identifying content gaps, streamlining workflows, and improving content lifecycle management.

Salary Range: $108,810.00 - $132,990.00


The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
