Job title: Digital Consumer Experience Design Lead

Location: Morristown, NJ

About the Job

The Consumer Experience (CX) Design Lead shapes and delivers world-class user experiences across Sanofi’s digital product ecosystem. You will partner with Product, Strategy, and Engineering teams to design experiences grounded in deep user understanding, from early discovery through to delivery. You will collaborate across strategy, product, and engineering to build human-centered solutions at scale, cultivating a culture of user-centric design. You are comfortable leading through ambiguity, responsive to change, and thrive in open, collaborative environments. Deep expertise in product design and human-centered design methods is essential, as is the ability to conduct and leverage discovery research to inform strategy and drive decisions.

About Sanofi

We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Apply design thinking and research methods fluidly across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and problem framing through ideation, prototyping, and delivery

  • Drive a unified, coherent user experience across products and platforms, collaborating with colleagues, business and technology leaders to align on direction and adapt as the organization evolves

  • Lead all phases of product design work: synthesizing research insights, driving design ideation, prototyping and implementation, with a track record of shipping innovative, successful products

  • Conduct and lead discovery-level research including contextual inquiry, stakeholder interviews, and workflow analysis to identify unmet needs, frame problems, and inform design strategy before solutions are defined

  • Design for complexity: translate intricate scientific workflows and multi-layered tool ecosystems into experiences that feel intuitive and unified to reduce cognitive load without reducing capability

  • Look across the end-to-end experience landscape to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities, connecting dots across products, teams, and user journeys to drive coherent, strategic design decisions

  • Make principled calls on priorities and advocate for quality; know when to push forward and when to hold the line

  • Contribute to detailed project planning, budgeting, and team capacity planning in collaboration with cross-functional groups

  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps with cross-functional leadership; manage multiple workstreams to on-time delivery

  • Champion human-centered design across the Consumer Experience group, digital development and partner organizations, embedding design and research thinking into how decisions get made

  • Define and apply user-centered measurement criteria; test and iterate to ensure experiences deliver measurable, positive outcomes

  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with customers and end users, continuously surfacing design opportunities through direct engagement

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Design, HCI or related field; Master’s degree in relevant field a plus

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a strong track record of leading strategy and shipping products

  • A portfolio demonstrating your design process, research integration, and shipped products is required

  • Experience with iterative design sprints and lean, Agile development process

  • Advanced product design skills and human-centered design methods, applied in practice to meet both user needs and business goals

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity — designing holistic, intuitive solutions for intricate product and UX ecosystems, including tools used by scientists and technical professionals

  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools

  • Expert knowledge of design systems and platform human interface guidelines across iOS, Android, LMS and connected platforms

  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines

  • Experience in sketching, concept creation, wireframing, information architecture, sitemaps, user flows, and rapid clickable prototypes

  • Deep understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to listen actively, articulate design rationale, and advocate effectively across all levels

  • Must be a vibrant and engaging communicator who can present concepts and ideas to all levels of the company

  • Familiarity conducting or closely partnering on user research, including discovery research, usability testing, and synthesis

  • Familiarity with pharma/health technology is a plus

Desired Traits

  • You are a vibrant and engaging storyteller, with strong business communication and presentation abilities to all levels of the company

  • You have strong attention to detail — in craft, cross-functional communication, and follow-through to successful execution

  • You are energized by complexity; you see intricate systems and workflows not as obstacles, but as design opportunities waiting to be untangled

  • You move fluidly between research and design modes and are equally comfortable in a discovery interview as you are in a high-fidelity prototype

  • You bring the ability and interest to help lead cultural shifts in the organization, including digital transformation

  • You are comfortable with change and ambiguity and are naturally confident in a shifting world

  • You have an intellectual curiosity that inspires others around you

Why Choose Us?

  • Bring the miracles of science to life alongside a supportive, future-focused team.

  • Discover endless opportunities to grow your talent and drive your career, whether it’s through a promotion or lateral move, at home or internationally.

  • Enjoy a thoughtful, well-crafted rewards package that recognizes your contribution and amplifies your impact.

  • Make your work count by supporting a company that brings life-changing treatments to millions — and is committed to doing right by patients, communities, and the planet.

  • Support teams across science, medicine, and operations by building better systems, shaping bold strategies, and enabling innovation at speed.

  • Drive progress from within by helping simplify, scale, and modernize how a global biopharma business delivers smarter, faster, and more sustainably.
