As a DIFM Solutions Architect, you'll build and deliver high-quality websites using WordPress, ensuring customer satisfaction and collaborating with teams.
The summary above was generated by AI

We’re looking for a fast-moving, customer-focused web builder to join our DIFM (Do-It-For-Me) team. As a DIFM Solutions Architect, your primary responsibility will be to build beautiful, effective websites at scale—delivering an average of three to four high-quality, five-page websites per day.

This role is perfect for someone who combines strong visual design instincts with efficiency, technical fluency, and a customer-first mindset. You’ll work closely with multiple teams and directly impact customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue.

On a typical day as a DIFM Solutions Architect, you will:

  • Build and deliver an average of three to four high-quality, five-page websites per day, completing each within four business days of content submission. All sites are built using the native WordPress block editor—no third-party themes or plugins.
  • Ensure every site is polished, functional, and aligned with customer goals—handling light revisions and minor troubleshooting to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Support pre-sales engagement by participating in internal Slack channels, helping address customer questions, and recommending the right solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales teams, developers, and other stakeholders across divisions to ensure a smooth customer journey and surface product insights.
  • Help scale the service by reusing design components, sharing best practices, and suggesting workflow improvements.
  • Stay current with WordPress.com features and broader industry design trends to raise the quality bar and bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Contribute to internal collaboration and knowledge-sharing by presenting at team meetings, helping with onboarding materials, and participating in broader org initiatives as needed.
  • Collaborate on evolving service offerings by piloting new initiatives and giving feedback that shapes future workflows and customer experiences.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in web design, website building, or a related field—especially with WordPress or other CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with the WordPress block editor is a plus.
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality, balancing speed with thoughtful design.
  • Strong written communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment with shifting priorities and new experiments.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to improve efficiency, creativity, and problem solving within a high-volume design workflow.
  • A collaborative team spirit—you’re generous with your knowledge and eager to help others level up.
  • A customer-first mindset with a clear understanding of how both pre-sales and post-launch experiences drive long-term success.

Bonus skills:

  • Experience with technical sales, customer onboarding, or live customer support.
  • Familiarity with creating or maintaining reusable themes, including child themes and block patterns.
  • Background in operations, service design, or optimizing workflows in high-volume environments.

This is a chance to directly impact thousands of customers while being part of a fast-growing, high-performance team. If you thrive in a creative, high-output environment—and you love seeing your work out in the world making a difference—we’d love to hear from you.

Salary range: $40,000 - $68,000 USD.  Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
