The Role

SimplePractice is seeking an experienced and innovative DevOps engineer with experience on AWS. The DevOps engineer who will work closely with the infrastructure and development groups on maintaining and administering multiple products within our AWS cloud infrastructure. The role will be responsible for building, configuring, maintaining and monitoring modern infrastructure, while utilizing various technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver DevOps assigned stories and tasks timely while ensuring quality and security of each release
  • Build, configure and improve infrastructure
  • Configure and maintain infrastructure elements using configuration tools such as Ansible and Terraform
  • Work on maintaining and configuring containers
  • Work closely with the Lead DBA to ensure maintenance and administration of our current MySQL database
  • Work closely with the information security and compliance team to mitigate potential vulnerabilities, harden systems and maintain compliance with HITRUST CSF and PCI
  • Work in collaboration with our Data Engineering and Science teams to implement the latest iteration of our data platform and services

Key Qualifications

  • AWS cloud experience (console and cli)
  • Solid Linux knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (Ruby, Python, Bash)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases (MySQL)
  • Experience working with containerization platforms and tools
  • IaaC knowledge such as Terraform or CloudFormation
