The DevOps Engineer will work with our engineering team to ensure the standards are followed and works as intended.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify performance improvements in areas like responsiveness, availability, and scale-especially for connected cloud and edge solutions utilizing Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or other container orchestration platforms.
- Design, build, and manage infrastructure on AWS with high availability, observability, and scalability in mind.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using best practices, including pipeline linting, policy enforcement, and automated testing.
- Build and manage Kubernetes resources including custom controllers and operators (preferably in Go), managing the lifecycle of edge/IoT applications.
- Implement GitOps workflows using tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD to manage Kubernetes environments declaratively.
- Integrate and maintain observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry) to ensure comprehensive insight into infrastructure and application behavior.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure containerized applications are designed and deployed securely and reliably.
- Contribute to the evolution of platform architecture by developing reusable components and infrastructure patterns.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools, and make recommendations to improve automation, performance, and reliability.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer role supporting production systems.
- Strong experience in Go (Golang) for tooling, automation, or Kubernetes operator development.
- Experience with AWS, including core services like EC2, IAM, S3, VPC, EKS, etc.
- Proficiency with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Experience with Git and GitHub workflows.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.
- Expertise in Linux system administration and Bash scripting.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Experience deploying and maintaining observability tooling: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Loki, or similar.
- Demonstrated success supporting high-scale IoT or Edge deployments on Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon EKS and workload scaling strategies.
- Experience developing Kubernetes operators/controllers using the controller-runtime or Operator SDK (in Go).
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tools: ArgoCD or FluxCD.
- Familiarity with Helm and Docker Compose.
- Understanding of cloud-native security best practices and policy enforcement (OPA/Gatekeeper, Kyverno).
- Background in manufacturing or industrial IoT is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field-or equivalent practical experience.
