Job Duties and Responsibilities
Join our mission-critical engineering team at DISH, where you'll help design and maintain the secure infrastructure that powers our core video delivery systems. You'll work with cutting-edge container technologies and automation tools in a high-impact, secure environment, directly supporting millions of customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain on-prem Kubernetes clusters and container infrastructure
  • Implement and manage secure CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
  • Administer VMware virtualization and Linux systems
  • Implement security controls and ensure compliance requirements
  • Troubleshoot complex problems across the technology stack
  • Create technical documentation and mentor team members
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting critical systems

Our Technology Stack:
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure: VMware, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)
  • Automation: SaltStack, Ansible, Terraform
  • CI/CD: ArgoCD, Git

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, DevOps, or system administration

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proven experience in virtualized (VMware) Linux environments
  • Infrastructure automation experience (Saltstack, Ansible)
  • Python and bash scripting proficiency
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
  • Experience with Helm, ArgoCD, Git
  • Advanced Linux administration skills
  • System performance tuning experience
  • Scaled Agile/Scrum methodology experience
  • Experience operating in secure, isolated environments

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $85,000.00/Year - $95,800.00/Year
