About Zencoder

Zencoder is a universal AI platform focused on integrating generative coding workflows into existing developer tools and infrastructure. Connect any CLI to any IDE, starting with Claude Code, Codex, and Zen CLI, while leveraging Zencoder's proprietary enterprise-grade features like multi-repo intelligence. The platform supports on-premise, hybrid, or cloud deployment, with air-gapped and zero-VPC options to maintain enterprise security. Through modular "Zen Agents," Zencoder codifies team practices into shareable, autonomous workflows that continuously code, test, and deploy.

The Opportunity

As a Developer Relations, you’ll be the bridge between Zencoder and the developer community, serving as both an advocate for developers and an evangelist for Zencoder’s products and services. You’ll engage with developers to build relationships, provide community support, and advocate for Zencoder’s products and services. This role involves creating educational content, being a technical ambassador, representing Zencoder at events, gathering feedback, and collaborating closely with various teams to drive product adoption and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community & Social Presence: Own Zencoder’s voice in the developer ecosystem. Be active where developers actually are—X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, Hacker News, GitHub discussions. Start conversations, respond credibly, and build real relationships with engineers, not corporate followers.
  • Developer Advocacy: Be the public technical face of Zencoder. Advocate for developers internally and externally by clearly articulating real-world pain points, and showing how Zencoder actually helps teams ship better software. Represent Zencoder in podcasts, AMAs, panels, meetups, and conferences
  •  Create Content That Engineers Respect: Create sharp, technical, high-signal content that developers want to read and share - Short-form social content (threads, demos, clips), Deep-dive blog posts and tutorials, Opinionated comparisons and breakdowns, Live demos, walkthroughs, and behind-the-scenes builds. Focus on clarity, honesty, and usefulness—not marketing fluff.
  • Community Feedback Loop: Be the connective tissue between the community and the product team. Collect unfiltered feedback, spot emerging patterns, and push insights back into product, docs, and roadmap discussions. Help ensure Zencoder evolves in a way developers actually care about.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Work with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical demos and answer technical questions for potential customers. Assist in developing solutions tailored to customers’ needs and provide technical expertise during the sales process.
  • Developer Experience Improvement: Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to enhance developer UX/UI with Zencoder, ensuring a smooth developer experience.
  • Events & Presence: Represent Zencoder at hackathons, meetups, and conferences with energy and authenticity. Run workshops, live builds, and interactive sessions that leave developers smarter than when they walked in.
Who you are
  • Builder First, Advocate Second: You’re a strong software engineer who actively builds, experiments, and ships. You’re comfortable working across real codebases and can speak credibly about systems, tradeoffs, and failure modes—not just features.
  • Technically Fluent: You have hands-on experience with modern development stacks (Python, JavaScript, Java, Rust, or similar). You understand how developers actually work and have a working mental model of AI systems, LLMs, agents, RAG, and tooling—bonus points if you’ve broken things while experimenting.
  • Industry-Recognized Voice: You’ve had speaking abstracts accepted at respected technical conferences or are clearly on that trajectory. You know how to spot topics developers care about and frame them in a way that gets attention without hype.
  • Clear, Opinionated Communicator: You can explain complex technical ideas simply, honestly, and confidently—whether that’s on stage, in a live demo, or in a short social post. You’re comfortable being visible and having a point of view.
  • Content Creator with Taste: You create technical content that developers actually respect: Blogs, tutorials, and deep dives, Social threads, demos, and walkthroughs, Videos that show real workflows. You prioritize clarity and usefulness over polish or marketing spin.
  • Community-Driven: You enjoy being part of developer communities—not managing them from a distance. You participate, listen, respond, and contribute. Open-source experience is a plus, but curiosity and authenticity matter more.
  • Developer-Centric Mindset: You instinctively think from the developer’s point of view. You can identify real pain points, translate them into insights for product teams, and help developers succeed without over-engineering the answer.
  • Collaborative Operator: You’re comfortable working cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, and sales - but you anchor your decisions in developer trust and technical reality.
Essential Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, DevRel, or a technical role
  • Strong understanding of modern developer workflows, tooling, & AI dev
  • Hands-on familiarity with LLMs, agents, and AI-powered developer tools
  • Proven experience speaking at conferences, meetups, webinars, or public technical forums
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging, high-signal technical content
  • Active familiarity with developer platforms like GitHub and online dev communities
Salary Range

The anticipated base salary for this position is up to $200,000 gross. The final offer may vary based on geographic location, relevant experience, education, and seniority compared to others in similar roles.
