Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
About the Role
We're seeking a Developer Marketing Manager to oversee our content and campaigns, as well as launch our Developer Champions Pilot Program, focused on developers building on Forge. In this role, you'll design and execute programs that engage, enable, and celebrate our most passionate developer advocates. You'll also drive integrated marketing campaigns and create compelling content to grow awareness and adoption of Forge across the global developer community.
What You'll Do
  • Campaigns & Content:
    • Plan and execute full-funnel marketing campaigns to drive developer acquisition, engagement, and retention for Forge.
    • Manage content strategy and calendar, defining and coordinating editorial themes, and curating high-quality materials from varying sources and cross functional teams.
    • Develop high-quality, developer-facing content including blog posts, guides, tutorials, case studies, and social media assets.
    • Partner with Developer Experience and Product teams to craft messaging and positioning for key feature releases and product launches.
  • Champions Program Leadership:
    • Design, launch, and manage the Developer Champions Pilot Program, identifying and empowering influential developers to evangelize Forge and support their peers.
    • Build relationships with Champions, providing them with resources, recognition, and opportunities to showcase their expertise.
    • Collaborate with Community, Product, and Developer Relations teams to ensure a seamless and impactful program experience.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Organize and support developer events (e.g., Atlas Camp, Developer Days, hackathons) to foster community and showcase Forge's capabilities.
    • Leverage online forums, webinars, and meetups to build a vibrant, engaged developer community.
  • Measurement & Optimization:
    • Define success metrics for the Champions Program and campaigns, track performance, and iterate based on feedback and data.

About You
  • 3+ years in developer marketing, product marketing, or developer relations, ideally in SaaS or platform companies.
  • Experience designing and running ambassador or champions programs for technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to create compelling technical content and run integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Passion for developer communities and empowering others to succeed.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
