About the Position

The Designer III is an entry-level role focused on supporting modeling strategy, strengthening discipline execution, and owning coordination and documentation quality across projects within a defined discipline focus.

You’ll apply TEECOM’s workflows, tools, and BIM standards with a high level of independence, serving as a key technical contributor who helps project teams deliver coordinated construction documents.

You’ll contribute to project delivery through advanced modeling, drawing development, coordination leadership, documentation, and early engineering support within your primary discipline (Telecom/ICT, Audiovisual, Security, Acoustics, Network, Wi-Fi, etc). As your technical expertise deepens, you’ll take on more complex responsibilities, including supporting system layouts, calculations, research, and design development with limited oversight.

Working closely with engineering mentors, project leads, and production staff, you’ll help maintain model health, guide coordination workflows, and reinforce TEECOM’s BIM and documentation standards.
You’ll support fast-paced coordination cycles, identify risks early, and help teams maintain clarity and alignment across models, markups, and deliverables.

You’ll also contribute to TEECOM’s documentation system by refining workflows, improving modeling standards, and supporting updates in GitHub based on lessons learned from project experience.

This position reflects strong technical capability, growing engineering judgment, ownership of coordination quality, and the ability to support and guide Designer I and Designer II team members through modeling, documentation, and coordination efforts.

Leading Production Quality, Coordination, and Discipline Execution

  • As a Designer III, your impact comes from owning production quality, applying stronger technical judgment, and leading coordination across disciplines. You contribute in three key ways:
  • Lead Project Execution and Apply Technical Judgment
  • You advance project momentum by delivering modeling, documentation, and early engineering work with increasing independence and sound judgment.
  • You improve design clarity by preparing coordinated views, calculations, research, and specifications that help engineers make informed design decisions.
  • You strengthen cross-discipline accuracy by structuring models effectively, managing links, and resolving coordination issues in partnership with production teams.
  • You elevate discipline execution by applying engineering principles to device layouts, routing strategies, and coordination decisions.
  • You estimate effort, sequence work logically, and coordinate task distribution within your scope, demonstrating early project management judgment that supports team efficiency and delivery predictability.
  • You operate at a trajectory-defining level, taking accountability for discipline-specific deliverables while building the depth required to intentionally transition into either the Associate (engineering) or Senior BIM Specialist (production) path.
  • Contribute to Team Learning and Collaboration
  • You build your skills and support team learning through structured training journeys, mentorship, and hands-on project experience.
  • You improve team performance by sharing lessons learned, surfacing risks early, and offering feedback that refines discipline processes and standards.
  • You elevate consistency and quality by enhancing documentation, tools, and workflows used by Designer I and II team members.
  • You advance team coordination by contributing to discussions on project challenges, coordination strategy, and system improvements that enhance delivery clarity and efficiency.
  • Improve the TEECOM System
  • You reinforce firmwide consistency by applying TEECOM’s templates, standards, and workflows and contributing meaningful refinements through documented feedback and Pull Requests.
  • You improve project clarity and reliability by maintaining accurate, well-structured models and documentation with minimal oversight.
  • You reduce rework and inefficiency by identifying production and coordination gaps and proposing practical, scalable solutions.
  • You elevate team capability by resolving modeling issues, design conflicts, and documentation risks—and guiding junior staff to do the same.

What Success in this Position Looks Like

  • You deliver accurate, fully coordinated Revit models, drawings, and documentation with minimal oversight.
  • You lead model health management, ensuring links, worksets, families, warnings, view templates, and model organization comply with TEECOM’s BIM standards.
  • You run and interpret clash tests in Navisworks or ACC, communicate coordination risks early, and drive cross-discipline resolution.
  • You complete complex production and early engineering tasks independently and validate assumptions proactively.
  • You support engineers by producing advanced calculations, specifications, product evaluations, and detailed coordination documentation.
  • You manage multiple workstreams effectively—prioritizing tasks, communicating risks early, and meeting deadlines across several projects.
  • You accurately estimate workload, sequence deliverables logically, and provide informed input on level of effort for assigned scope, demonstrating early project management judgment.
  • You apply TEECOM standards consistently and contribute improvements through documented feedback and Pull Requests.
  • You lead or support coordination meetings and produce clear, actionable notes that strengthen project alignment.
  • You collaborate with production and engineers to identify and resolve coordination issues and maintain model accuracy.
  • You maintain high-quality documentation in GitHub and contribute meaningful Pull Requests that improve tools, templates, or workflows.
  • You meet utilization targets and complete daily time and expense entries accurately.
  • You model TEECOM’s Core Values—Care, Trust, and Value—through leadership in communication, accountability, and technical execution.
