We are seeking an experienced IP Application Engineer with a strong foundation in hardware/software co-development to drive strategic and execution-level IP engagements across the company. This role is a blend of application engineering and technical program management (TPM) involving end-to-end management of third-party IP, including roadmap planning, vendor engagement, and technical support across domains such as Processors, Interface IPs (USB, PCIe), Security, AI/ML NPUs. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams to understand IP needs, manage vendor engagements, and provide technical support for IP integration challenges. This role plays a crucial part in accelerating product development within ADI across all domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead roadmap alignment efforts between internal product teams and IP vendors to ensure timely and relevant IP availability.
- Work cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Product and architecture teams to define and track IP requirements and influence architectural decisions.
- Provide hands-on support as an Application Engineer, assisting teams in debugging and optimizing both Hardware and Software IP integration challenges.
- Own and drive automation of IP management processes including tracking, validation, delivery management, and compliance reporting.
- Oversee vendor engagements, licensing agreements, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Lead technical program management efforts to ensure timely Vendor IP selection, deployment, and tracking.
- Support evaluation and integration of software IP across various domains, including AI/ML (NPU software stacks), security IP, connectivity (USB, Ethernet), and Processor cores.
- Stay updated on industry trends and provide recommendations for adopting new IP solutions.
- Establish and evolve IP integration best practices to promote reuse, consistency, and quality across programs.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Hardware/Software Co-development, technical program management, or application engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of hardware IP (interface, compute, security) and its interaction with software components (Firmware, Drivers, OS, Stacks).
- Demonstrated experience supporting hardware/software co-integration, driver bring-up, and FPGA/System-level debug.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and managing deliverables across multiple stakeholders
- Familiarity with IP licensing, compliance, and vendor management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Hardware-Software Co-development with focus on Processor, NPU, Interface IPs
- Knowledge of AI/ML accelerators, NPUs and software stacks like TFLite and ONNX.
- Experience with embedded OSes (Zephyr, FreeRTOS)
- Exposure to IP metadata standards (e.g., IPXACT, SystemC).
- Familiarity with SoC product lifecycle, from architecture to tape-out.
- Comfortable using project tracking tools like Jira, Confluence, and internal dashboards.
- Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and lead initiatives
