Integrate and align savings & Term Deposit growth with the introduction of new alternative channels

  • Work closely with operations and support initiatives on delivery channel improvement or the introduction of new delivery channels
  • Identify strategic opportunities to increase the institutional success (outreach) in the area of savings by creating greater processes/operational efficiencies, strengthening the market response (for example through improvements in product design or new marketing channels, or otherwise enhancing the scale and impact of activities.
  • Develop new channels for product delivery
  • Enhance scale by identifying suitable clientele in need of the products

Ensure all Savings and Term Deposit policies are up to date, understood by all employees and properly implemented

  • Develop/Enhance/Update the savings policy manual
  • Update savings policy manual to align to the business strategy

Performance monitoring and reporting

  • Devise in close collaboration with operations a performance management approach for savings and Term Deposits for the branches
  • Develop Branch KPI’s to improve performance and adoption of the savings / T/D product

Review and update savings methodologies and processes to streamline and automate procedures

  • Review and revise on an as-needed-basis the strategy and the objective for the development of savings and a term deposit account
  • Determine, in conjunction with other business units, staffing and training needs that enhance product delivery, customer service and operational efficiency
  • Regularly review & revise the strategy of the product to align to the competition and market demands
  • Develop training modules for the product to enhance staff product knowledge and encourage product uptake

Develop specific key market growth, outreach strategies for savings mobilization and growth

  • Develop a savings portfolio by considering a diversity of customer segments ranging from individual, SG’s, Corporates and Institutional clients
  • Prepare the annual budget and portfolio targets for the savings activities. The budget will be substantiated by a high-level action plan outlining plans to achieve the proposed targets.
  • Ensure that cross selling takes place within the institution. VFZ has more than 90,000 clients and this potential must be utilized by all our officers
  • Identify strategic opportunities to increase the institutions success (outreach) in the area of savings and Term deposits by creating greater processes and operational efficiencies, strengthening market response, scale and impact
  • Diversify customer segments according to market demand
  • Cross sell T/D’s / Savings with other VFZ products and services
  • Targets to align to VFZ’s growth appetite on deposit mobilization

New Product Development, Monitoring and research of existing savings products for client fit

  • Monitor the performance of the savings products and services
  • Ensure that the deposit products continue to respond to the needs of the market.
  • Conduct customer surveys in order to obtain insights and understanding on the level of customer satisfaction
  • Client satisfaction maintained/improved
  • Client acquisition rate to increase
  • Conduct market research and product surveys for the product

Ensure marketing information is acted up to improve savings product adoption, policies and delivery

  • Develop detailed proposals for new innovative savings products. Product design will be based on customer, market insights and competitor information
  • Undertake pilot process and pilot roll out
  • # of new products developed increasing client numbers or savings portfolio by 20%
  • Product designs/enhancements/modifications made, approved and rolled out.

  • Attends and participates in the weekly schedules of devotion

Qualifications: Knowledge and Technical Skills

The following will be required;

  • Degree in business administration or related field
  • Must have at least 3 year’s experience at management level
  • Must have experience in savings / deposit mobilization
  • Mature and a committed Christian
  • Good research, marketing and product development skills
  • Ability to conceptualize and evaluate new ideas and new business opportunities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through report writing
  • Good persuasion skills

Working Environment / Conditions

  • Office environment: Typical office based 40% and field 60%
  • On call: Within working hours and when required by management
