EnerNOC has an immediate need for a Demand Response Operations Analyst working in the DR Global Operations department. Our team helps deliver on our global demand response and demand management program commitments by leading implementation, managing execution, and coordinating operational support for EnerNOC’s demand response and demand management programs.

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the DR business and a strong desire to become a domain expert in DR program rules, propriety systems, and operational protocols. The candidate will support the DR Operations team in implementing new demand response programs, identifying and improving systems dependencies, and coordinating cross-functional teams to optimize customer retention and portfolio delivery.

What you’ll do:

 Drive customer success in demand response & demand management programs

  • Become well-versed in factors impacting customer and portfolio performance, leverage this knowledge to drive customer success in utility and grid operator programs
  • Support maintenance and improvement of systems/platforms, including identification & resolution of issues impacting program execution
  • Manage outbound customer communications and program training
  • Develop forecasting tools and form relationships with utility and grid operator personnel to predict dispatch likelihood

Analyze demand response & demand management risks & results

  • Develop a robust understanding of program contracts, rules, and operational implications
  • Use this knowledge to identify opportunities for margin increases and/or or risk reduction. Deliver on these opportunities via continuous improvement in process, tools, systems, and training
  • Communicate demand response and demand management dispatch results to the company

Support ongoing training & process optimization initiatives

  • Develop scalable tools & processes to increase operational efficiency and improve customer delivery
  • Leverage systems understanding to coordinate and influence EnerNOC teams to drive improvements to customer, hardware, and software performance while recommending requirements for system enhancements to Operations and Engineering management
  • Develop and deliver program training to diverse EnerNOC teams that participate in demand response program activities
  • Support cross-functional implementation of new demand response & demand management programs

About you:

  • BS/BA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You love tackling thorny problems: getting deep into the details while communicating those results to diverse stakeholders
  • You have experience managing multiple, cross-functional projects while maintaining strong internal relationships 
  • You are an adept ‘systems thinker’ – naturally curious about how things are designed & built
  • You have a demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations calmly and effectively, in fact, you thrive in a fast-paced, open, flexible environment
  • You are looking to be a core member of a deeply-connected, mission-driven team
  • You have the hard skills to back it up: experienced with Excel, R, Visio, Salesforce CRM, or proprietary software

Above and beyond:

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in an operational role
  • You have a deep understanding of the demand response industry and power systems
  • You have previously worked in energy management, power generation, demand response or related industries
  • You have a background in Six Sigma or other quality improvement methodologies
