Job DescriptionThe Premium Business Unit Planning team is seeking an experienced Demand Planning Lead to support our North America Sales Channels. The candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to deliver data driven insights and recommendations.
The Demand Planner’s primary goal is to drive a timely, accurate and complete forecast to enable our Sales Channel to achieve revenue targets while seeking to continuously improve forecast accuracy to enable Supply Planning to optimize inventory levels. The Demand Planner needs to leverage both their analytical skills as well as their influence and collaboration skills to partner closely across Sales, Business Planning, Finance and Global Supply Chain to drive the consensus demand planning cycle ensuring that all assumptions impacting the demand plan are aligned to.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the development of new product volumes and launch plans and providing insightful sales analysis to help explain business results, identify risks and opportunities and measure key performance indicators.
The above requires the ideal candidate to develop a strong business acumen and strong relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders to optimize business results.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Account Demand Consensus Cycle as part of the overarching S&OP:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts for assigned account responsibilities, incorporating inputs from sales, marketing, and other relevant stakeholders
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer behavior and utilize that information as input into a more accurate forecast
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of assigned customer order patterns and nuances to their business and incorporate those learnings into the forecast
- Collaborate with the Product team to incorporate promotional activities, product launches, and other relevant “marketing related” events into demand forecasts
- Work closely with Supply Planning to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and inventory management strategy
- Regularly review forecast accuracy and make adjustments as necessary to improve forecasting performance; Communicate accuracy on a regular basis to relevant Sales stakeholders and drive a culture of continuous improvement
- Identify potential risks and opportunities through the consensus process and develop strategies with Sales to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
- Report and provide analysis on insights into demand trends, forecast accuracy, and inventory performance
- Have an understanding of how to manage a statistical forecasting models, select best fit models, and clean history to provide a better input into future stat forecasts
- Ability to seamlessly switch between account level (Sales) views and product line level (Product) views of analysis depending on the audience
Education and Experience: Bachelor in Business, Finance, Economics or Operations, 5-7 years of experience
Key Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication Analytical: Needs strong analytical skill set to work using different sources of information Strong personality: Able to listen, influence and negotiate with primary business stakeholders Self-motivated, self-starter and ability to work independently Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Solid Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Sales & Operation Process / Supply Value Chain Kinaxis/RapidResponse, SAP Forecasting
