Job Summary:


The Demand Generation Strategist will report to the Direct of Demand Generation and lead the demand gen efforts for a small portfolio of clients. In this role, you will be responsible for translating and executing high-level digital strategies from our account strategy team into robust and compelling outcomes for our clients—generating demand and qualified leads for our clients’ products and services. You will play a lead role in the client's pipeline creation and revenue generation. As such, you are expected to have well-rounded, expert-level demand generation skills beyond inbound marketing. You will work closely with the SmartBug account strategist and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.


As a Demand Generation Strategist, you will be measured on delivering the following:

Client satisfaction (results, retention, awards, reviews, referenceable clients)

Customer growth and SmartBug profitability on your clients

Setting and achieving SMART client goals

Timely delivery of services

Individual utilization rates that meet company goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Success
  • Develop and execute a demand generation strategy for clients that meets their stated business goals—demonstrating ROI for your clients should be your North Star
  • Ensure your clients see SmartBug as an indispensable partner in their growth, and that each receives a 5-star customer experience as measured by being the highest-rated partner on the HubSpot partner directory—your clients should be happy to be a reference
  • Deliver consistent, world-class quality across all demand generation strategies and implementations
  • Have a strong understanding of strategic opportunities to expand retainer scope and present ideas to the account strategist
  • Assist the Director of Specialty Strategy and the Director of Service Strategy to ensure new services represent the voice of the customer
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, market developments, competitive landscape, and HubSpot’s competitive position to ensure the clients’ demand-generation strategies remain cutting-edge and effective

  • Strategy Development and Execution
  • Work with account strategist team to develop value-based goals for our clients, with a heavy emphasis on how demand can be generated for the client’s product/service (i.e. pipeline generation)Expert understanding of demand generation strategies and tactics, included but not limited to ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, inbound marketing, content marketing and syndication, conversion rate optimization, event marketing, social media, conversational marketing, influencer marketing, account-based marketing, lead nurturing, paid media; all features within HubSpot Marketing Hub and Content Hub—not just inbound marketing and/or HubSpot methodology
  • Identify ideal customer profiles, target audiences and buyer personas to inform strategic recommendations
  • Craft and execute multi-channel digital campaigns to generate leads and drive demand
  • Conduct conversion rate optimization (CRO) audits and experiments to increase lead generation
  • Implement lead nurturing strategies to engage leads throughout the buyer’s journey; work closely with a SmartBug technologist to build automation in HubSpot
  • Understanding of account-based marketing strategies and implementation within the HubSpot platform
  • Understanding of third-party digital tools and how they integrate with HubSpot for the purposes of recommending strategies
  • Work with SmartBug technologists to optimize client’s Marketing Hub instances as well as execute the strategy in HubSpotCreate a compelling and engaging content strategy to attract, educate, engage, and convert potential customers

  • Reporting and Analytics
  • Regularly assess and report on the impact of demand generation efforts—remember, ROI is the North StarProvide monthly reports, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and additional strategic recommendations based on a strong understanding of performance data

  • Delivery Process
  • Work with internal SmartBug team to ensure quality work is delivered to clients
  • Ensure you create and follow processes that result in differentiated client results and quality

  • SmartBug Sales and Marketing Support
  • Collaborate with the SmartBug sales team to develop tailored strategies to prospectsAssist SmartBug sales reps in delivering recommendations during sales callsParticipate in the company's content, thought-leadership, and organic social programs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand generation strategy and execution.
  • Proven experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub and a deep understanding of the HubSpot ecosystem.
  • Deep knowledge of demand gen strategies outside of inbound marketing.
  • Experience with additional digital tools (Google Ads, WordPress, Social Posting and Monitoring, etc.).
  • Experience in setting and achieving annual and quarterly goals for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a positive and productive team spirit without sacrificing client goals and adhering to SmartBug values.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure high client satisfaction and retention and achieve demand generation, lead generation and ROI goals.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • HubSpot essential certifications.
