Deal Governance Analyst

The Deal Governance Analyst will be a key member of the Global Deal Governance and Deal Desk team. Reporting to the Deal Governance and Compliance manager, they will be tasked with analytics around ACV allocation for deals and ensuring accurate metrics across all systems. You will also analyze metrics to support new policy initiatives and create reporting structures to track existing policy efforts across all our global sales regions. You will also serve as a key business partner for both deal strategy & deal operations, as well as all teams coordinating with us, such as Renewals, Renewal Ops, Sales Ops, RevAccounting, and Sales Enablement. You will promote data driven analytics + decision making in support of our deal desk policies and decision-making.

This role is open to remote candidates, but if you're in the Bay Area, we have a hybrid expectation of 3 days per week in our Palo Alto HQ

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analyze deals outside of our standard framework to ensure accurate ACV calculation and allocation across different business units and track all deals where manual inputs are required
  • Refine existing policies and processes to more efficiently serve sales, deal desk and finance partners within the business
  • Monitor adherence to pricing guidelines, discount thresholds and key deal exceptions
  • Create monthly reporting for distribution to management, including dashboards in SFDC and/or Tableau, and ad hoc reporting/ analysis for management to inspect issues & improve business and financial performance
  • Analyze pricing, discounting & exception trends and institutionalizing benchmark standards by product, deal size, and industry
  • Create and maintain reporting metrics to analyze sales trends for reporting to senior leadership
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a Global Approval Matrix to be utilized to maintain approval standards, standardize quoting processes and improve velocity around non-standard quoting practices

Experience you’ll need:

  • 2+ years of experience with Sales Ops, Channel Operations, Deal Desk, or Sales
  • Experience with a tiered sales channel, go to market strategy, and navigating a high volume / multi transactional environment with high degree of change management
  • Familiarity with financial or revenue recognition principles and contracting guidelines
  • Experience with Tableau,  SFDC, CPQ and other financial tools. 
  • Strong communicator (written/verbal) and ability to present & simplify complex topics
  • Demonstrated abilities to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with efficiency and accuracy
  • Demonstrated abilities building & maintaining metrics/reporting workstreams

It is helpful, but not required to have

  • Experience with Workday, Coupa, Adaptive Insights, NetSuite
  • Moderate modeling experience for Sales/Renewal Business Planning

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US (SF Bay Area, DC Metro, NYC) Pay Range
$92,500$138,800 USD
