We are seeking a Database Administrator to support the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise data platforms powering mission-critical healthcare and readiness systems. In this role, you’ll help sustain and support ongoing improvements to database environments within a highly regulated federal ecosystem, working closely with data engineers, platform teams, and security stakeholders to maintain stable, compliant, and highly available data solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Administer and maintain enterprise relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL within secure production environments.
  • Monitor database health and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure stable and reliable operations.
  • Execute database backup and recovery procedures and assist in maintaining high-availability configurations.
  • Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and STIG compliance activities aligned with established RMF and IAVM processes.
  • Manage database user access, permissions, and role-based access controls in accordance with security policies.
  • Support ETL developers, platform administrators, and data engineers by assisting with database-related troubleshooting and data integration needs.
  • Maintain database documentation, operational runbooks, and standard procedures to support ongoing sustainment.
  • Work within Agile and secure delivery environments to support database operations and release activities.

What you’ll bring:

  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Experience monitoring database performance and resolving operational issues.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery processes and maintaining secure database environments.
  • Exposure to federal cybersecurity practices such as STIGs, RMF, vulnerability remediation, or compliance-driven operations.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams in structured delivery environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to operational detail.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. In alignment with federal contract requirements, certain roles may also require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or a security clearance.

Compensation:

At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.

United States Wage Range: $80,000 – $115,000
