Years Experience: all levels available
Location: fully remote
Compensation: DOE ($50k/yr-$155k/yr.)
Summary: A Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing an organization’s databases so data is available, accurate, and protected
Core Responsibilities
- Install & configure databases (e.g., Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)
- Monitor performance and optimize queries for speed and efficiency
- Backup & recovery: Ensure data can be restored after failures
- Security management: Control user access and prevent unauthorized access
- Troubleshooting: Fix database issues, crashes, or slowdowns
- Upgrades & patches: Keep systems up to date
- Data integrity: Ensure accuracy and consistency of stored data
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of database design and data modeling
- Experience with performance tuning and indexing
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of backup tools, security practices, and disaster recovery
