Klaviyo operates a real-time data platform coded in Python built for massive scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Engineers come to Klaviyo with experience in a variety of languages and from a number of disciplines.
The Ecosystem Intelligence team aims to help Klaviyo's customers understand how well they are performing, pinpoint areas for improvement, and grow by implementing best practices. We are responsible for building out robust ETL pipelines using technologies including Airflow and Celery. We then surface this data through customer-facing features, like Benchmarks where users can compare their performance to their peers' results and identify their biggest growth opportunities.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the ownership of key features within the ecosystem intelligence space, working alongside other experienced engineers. You will work directly with the team plus our product manager to help drive technical conclusions from stakeholders, as well as set our roadmap, team objectives, and goals.

How you will make a difference:
- Design and engineer E.T.L pipelines that are used to support product-facing features
- Test data science algorithms and techniques on data sets and engineer data systems that let non-technical users make decisions with their first party data in real time
- Advance your technical skills in all facets ranging from front end web development and user experience to machine learning and massively parallelized data pipelines
- Be an active participant in all parts of our process including setting the roadmap and mission, actively triaging customer concerns, and planning the technical direction of projects that will have immediate impact
- Contribute to a culture of learning through attending engineering tech talks and data science reading group sessions
- Work hand-in-hand with customer facing roles, such as sales and support, to ship high value features
Who You Are:
- 2+ years of software engineering experience in a fast-paced SaaS environment
- Enjoy working with new technologies ranging from the frontend to backend, and are particularly passionate and an expert in multiple stack areas
- Passionate about working with Data Scientists in productizing data science / machine learning models for end-users, including building out the necessary back-end and UX/UI (Javascript, HTML, React)
- Deep knowledge of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, C#, Ruby)
- Experience with database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL and relational database schema design in production
- Experience with developing test strategies, designing automation frameworks, writing unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics
- Have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, applied math, statistics or other relevant quantitative discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
