Job Summary

Position Summary:

The person will be part of an energetic team developing a cutting-edge multi-platform speech recognizer in C++ and Python. They will help develop new algorithms and APIs, support deployment mechanisms, optimize code for speed and memory, and fix bugs. They will interact with internal clients in Research and Engineering teams.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for contributing to the on-going development of a multi-platform, multi-purpose speech recognition engine. They will write code to implement new features, as well as analyze existing code for applying improvements and optimizations. They will help maintain and enhance systems that test the recognizer for correctness and performance. They will also be responsible for fielding questions and requests from various in-house clients of the recognizer.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications –

Education: Masters in Computer Science (or higher) or equivalent experience

Minimum years of work experience: 3+ (or equivalent higher learning)

Required skills: Good C++ and Python software development skills. Excellent algorithmic and analytical skills.

Preferred skills:  

Understanding of speech recognition and deep learning algorithms; Knowledge of deep learning toolkits such as TensorFlow; Experience with client-server frameworks for cloud-based deployment (e.g. Kubernetes); Knowledge of GPU-based / high performance computing; Experience with large software development projects; Knowledge of Unix / MacOS; Knowledge of software development for embedded platforms such as Android and iOS.
