THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Reporting and Research Department is a new department under the Outreach umbrella of ActBlue. This staff member will report to the Reporting and Research Director. Their primary role will be to develop, maintain, and support the Outreach department’s data and infrastructure by creating systems to align current and future data workflows with the goals and needs of the department. A large part of this work will be supervising the migration and implementation to a unified CRM, managing associates, and enriching Outreach data with other internal and external data sources.
This person will also help the Reporting and Research Director build a new subteam to strategically align around data needed to better capture the work of program teams. They will work in tandem with the Reporting and Research Director and Manager to ensure teams have the information needed to achieve goals, as well as position Outreach data to meet the vision and values of our department. Furthermore, this person will work on automating processes and tasks to grant Outreach staff more visibility and awareness about the needs of entities. Lastly, this person will also be a leader within the Outreach department and a point person for Outreach data stakeholders.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Scope and map a conceptual design for an Outreach relationship database with the Reporting and Research Director and provide key insights on usage;
- Serve as a leader on the Reporting and Research team, providing a strategic thought partnership to the Director in honing departmental strategy and goals;
- Serve as part of a team focused on data infrastructure, warehousing information, and enriching Outreach data with internal and external data sources to better leverage the work of the Outreach department;
- Supervise the creation of Outreach data standards documentation, including but not limited to an Outreach data dictionary highlighting tracking standards, procedures, and definitions in order to maintain the institutional knowledge of the department;
- Establish an onboarding program for existing and new Outreach staff to train, institute, and share guidance and best practices;
- Work closely with other departments within ActBlue and ATS to understand and align the work and the needs of the Outreach department;
- Assess knowledge gaps and strategize filling data needs that will further institutional knowledge and information sharing;
- Consider the needs of front-end Outreach users at various levels, as well as back-end Outreach users with regard to accessibility and standardization of information;
- Manage and support the professional development of junior staff;
- Direct project management and delegation of large, complex projects as assigned;
- Work outside of regular business hours (i.e., 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) as required;
- Travel as required;
- Other tasks as necessary.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- At least 4 years of data, reporting and CRM experience;
- At least 3 years of staff management experience preferred;
- Working knowledge of the front-end and back-end of a CRM or voter file;
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with teams across an organization;
- Experience creating robust work plans and executing large-scale project management;
- Proficient in spreadsheets and SQL;
- Firsthand experience creating database standards and processes;
- Strong foundation in database design, implementation, and documentation;
- Highly experienced with data pipelines and data hygiene;
- Familiarity with BI tools, such as Looker or Tableau preferred;
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences;
- Experience working on an interdisciplinary team where skill-sharing and professional development are encouraged;

LOCATION AND COMPENSATION:
This posting is for a full-time, remote, salaried position. ActBlue is currently authorized to support remote work employees in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.
