Job Summary

Position summary:

 

The Principal Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for:

a. providing actional data and analysis, working with large internal and external databases and consolidating data from multiple data sources, working with teams globally across multiple business segments, and presenting data in a meaningful way as guidance for executive leaders.

b. analyzing business performance related metrics, reporting on key performance indicators, analyzing and tracking revenue improvement opportunities, creating models that support business decisions (in close collaboration with FP&A). This role’s output will provide new cloud based SaaS based program dashboard content to show progress/achievements vs. plan on our investment and growth initiatives
 

Principal duties and responsibilities –

  • Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide meaningful insights to decision-makers
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Develops, automates, maintains, and delivers weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly business performance metrics to monitor KPIs and dashboards
  • Provides the business intelligence, strategic planning support, drives proper approach for analysis and measurement of success, for various business segments and its leaders
  • Constructs business performance forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge, in close collaboration with Finance and Accounting as well as Product Management
  • Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
  • Enhances/refines reporting through the design of dashboards and other data visualization techniques that enhance management’s understanding of and access to key metrics.
  • Provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues
  • Produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.
  • Develop key hypothesis, conduct interviews, gather data, define and execute required analyses, identify issues and problems and recommend approaches to address them
  • Establish metrics and dashboards to measure the level of success of initiative. Develop, measure, track, and report on programs progress and impact against objectives
  • Support day-to-day reporting needs including training, demonstrations, troubleshooting, ad hoc reporting, etc.
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Knowledge, skills and qualifications – 

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Business or other related field; Master’s degree preferred 

 

Minimum years of work experience: 5+ years in a Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Finance related environment

 

Required skills and past experience: 

- Past experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analysis or Data Scientist role within either Finance, Business PMO, Corporate Development or other business functions.
- Mastery in Microsoft Excel required (familiarity with statistical packages, SQL or VBA coding a plus)
- Experience with Business Intelligence service management tools are a requirement.
- Deep understanding of SaaS business environment, business processes and practices
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and superior analytical skills
- Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends
- Strong written and oral communication skills. 
- Creative, results driven, self-motivated, and solutions oriented to execution
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple simultaneous workstreams and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Attentive to detail and quality oriented; ability to execute in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to work independently, superior organization and planning skills to plan and prioritize work and respond to conflicting deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement, discuss problems, analyze solutions/options, evaluate and enable improved processes and manage ambiguity.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with other Office Suite tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
 

Preferred skills or other requirements: 

- Business process documentation and experience with Lean Six-Sigma and Lean Thinking
- Project management and business process creation and continuous improvement related skills.
- A highly resourceful individual who is comfortable working with ambiguity, strong emotional intelligence and emotional resilience, collaborative, with solid organizational skills
- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a software organization with a rapidly expanding customer base in a changing healthcare environment.
- Basic knowledge of electronic medical records systems, electronic physician documentation, biomedical informatics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Clinical Language Understanding (CLU).
- Travel: Up to 5%, incl. international travel
