Our highly collaborative Market Research team works across key functional marketing areas (Strategy, Brand, Product Marketing) as well as geographies (US, EMEA, APJ) to deliver strategic insights that support the team’s goals and growth plans. This role will report into the Director of Market Research.
About the role
As a Strategy and Market Research Manager, you will manage high impact market research studies and manage Klaviyo’s Brand Awareness Tracker. All of which will contribute to key decisions on Klaviyo’s strategic initiatives as well as guide operational marketing decisions. You will need prior experience managing quantitative and qualitative studies end to end, with a keen sense of how to use primary, secondary and big data analytics to make business decisions.
How you’ll have an impact
Market Research & Strategy can mean different things to different people. At Klaviyo it means you’ll:
- manage the Market Research Team integrated learning plan that answers questions for all teams across Klaviyo’s Marketing Team
- support in identification of research needs for ongoing business planning
- manage end to end quantitative and qualitative research projects: including understanding customer needs, positioning/message testing as well as managing/reporting results for Klaviyo’s Brand Awareness tracker
- manage internal evangelism around customer segmentation, personas and shopper journeys
- actively conduct research as required to maintain current understanding of competitive products, sales tactics, target markets and market penetration, pricing, etc.
- ensure information gathered is used to effectively influence product planning, business strategy, etc
- Both give and receive meaningful feedback focusing on empathy, curiosity and investment in growth
What we’re looking for
- Experience (5+ years) and proficiency with the entire research cycle: designing/programming research, managing the data collection process, synthesizing findings/insights, etc.
- Ability to integrate data/insights from multiple sources (quantitative & qualitative studies) to advise strategic recommendations for the business
- Translate data into meaningful recommendations and implications focused on business actions
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Works to build and maintain positive relationships in order to collaboratively deliver against objectives
- Comfort with ambiguity and knack for creative problem solving. Passionate about coming up with strategic and sound methodologies, extracting actionable implications to distill throughout the business.
Nice to have
- Experience with competitive intelligence research
- Experience in both a B2B and B2C environment preferred
- A 4-year college degree or related experience
- 5 years’ experience in primary and syndicated research
