As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Risk, as a part of the Data Platform team, you will play a crucial role in advancing the firm's core data strategy. Your responsibilities will include working with state-of-the-art platforms and ensuring their smooth integration into the operations of a leading global bank. Additionally, you will apply essential SRE principles across diverse technologies such as Big Data, AWS, and CI/CD to improve reliability and efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data jobs across multiple data platforms.
  • Troubleshoot issues arising from data loads.
  • Interact with upstream and downstream data systems.
  • Engage with development teams throughout the lifecycle to troubleshoot issues in production and non-production environments.
  • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems, and ensure permanent closure of incidents.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to fix production issues.
  • Work on builds and pipelines to deploy applications.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong ownership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on AWS experience or cloud certifications.
  • Experience deploying and supporting micros services and cloud-based applications.
  • Experience with continuous integration/development toolkits like GIT/Subversion/Jenkins/Sonar.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Intermediate understanding in at least one technology stack or programming language (Java/Python/Scala).
  • Experience maintaining a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with site reliability concepts, principles, and practices.
