The Lead Business Analyst will work as part of a Data Services Operations team, focused mainly on production related activities, and occasionally supporting project and efficiency work as needed by the team. The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for executing assigned tasks in accordance with standards and best practices when focusing on client deliverables. The Lead Business Analyst analyzes data, researches, and resolves issues, and delivers client reports on a weekly and monthly schedule. In addition, s/he may participate in the testing, training, and implementation of new and existing client deliverables. The Lead Business Analyst is results-oriented and understands the impact of the client production cycle on the organization as a whole. S/he assists the Lead Analyst and/or Project Manager in tracking the production cycle and ensuring deliverables go out according to a defined schedule. S/he provides coaching, training and oversight to junior Business Analysts. S/he also assists with escalations of issues and helping the junior and senior Business Analysts resolve problems.

1. Client Deliverables

  • Preparation, review, and delivery of all client reporting
  • Research & triage of data-related inquiries that may require coordination across operational, technology, and project teams
  • Assist junior and senior Business Analysts with escalation of inquiries and issue resolution

2. Data Collection & Documentation

  • Document business requirements gathered from business users, sponsors and clients, and obtain user signoff on the requirements.
  • Identify and interview key individuals to gather needed details and direction to define business requirements.
  • Track and organize open items; understand the time sensitivities of open issues and drive to resolution.
  • Communicate defects to Systems developers. Track delivery dates for defect fixes and maintain status reporting. Escalate appropriately.
  • Document new or revised procedures or workflows and communicate them effectively to business teams and/or client.
  • Document Change Requests, provide effort estimates and document business requirements for approved Change Requests

3. Analysis

  • Conduct business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence
  • Leverage strong understanding of both financial services products and digital and data solutions as part of solutioning business requirements and design
  • Recognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues.
  • Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions.
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to management to enhance design and deliverables.
  • Understand technical concepts and how they impact the project/business.
  • Work with business areas to identify productivity improvements in workflows and procedures.
  • Work with business areas to identify areas of risk for errors and omissions.
  • Participate in testing of system changes, which may include user acceptance testing, regression testing, client testing and/or parallel/pilot testing as required

4. Communication

  • Plan meetings, prepare materials, and participate in meetings with business users and sponsors, systems groups, vendors and clients
  • Prepare project status reporting and other project communications for internal and external stakeholders as needed

5. Client Interaction

  • Assist in client workshops and meetings to identify key issues, requirements, and gaps.
  • Conduct user/client training when necessary.
  • Assist in the creation of product announcements and modification of client demonstration materials as needed.

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

  • BA/BS degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of industry or project experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office product suite
  • Basic Database/SQL skills (beneficial, but not required)

   

Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000

BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
