About this team:

We are looking for a highly talented and motivated Data Scientist. The Science team leads initiatives in audience solutions, traffic shaping, forecasting, pricing optimization, latency analysis, and a range of other strategic projects. We are looking for someone versatile, methodical, excited by modern technology, and who enjoys focusing on tackling data science challenges. 

In this role, you will:

  • Research, experiment with, and prototype machine learning algorithms and statistical models for pattern recognition, trend analysis, optimization, and predictive modeling

  • Collaborate with Engineers to ensure scalable models that perform effectively on high-volume data and support deployment to production

  • Leverage big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark to process large-scale datasets

  • Stay aligned with both client-driven and internal projects

  • Participate in and contribute to design and code reviews for data science projects

  • Develop a strong understanding of the ad tech business context to ensure data science solutions are relevant and impactful

We are looking for someone with:

  • A PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering)

  • Strong understanding of predictive analytics, statistical modeling, and data mining—including theory, algorithms, and practical applications

  • Able to make intelligent approximations and design effective,  practical, and scalable mathematical models

  • Ability to identify assumptions and limitations in models and algorithms, and assess their impact on reporting and decision-making

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL is required; experience with Scala is a plus

  • Familiarity with large language models is a plus

In Massachusetts, the base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000, in addition to an annual variable bonus based on performance and company equity (NASDAQ: MGNI).
