M9 Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist III to work remotely in support of a government contract for a client located in Washington, DC. An active Secret clearance is required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics required, OR additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 5+ years of experience with machine learning engineering, data science, data project engineering, or software development for data solutions.
  • Experience with designing a technical solution and leading a team in the implementation of the technical design.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages (such as Python, JSON, C++, Java, R, or Scala).
  • Experience with containerization tools, including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with architecting and designing novel analytic methods using machine learning methodologies.
  • Experience with developing and supporting data-oriented tasks for cybersecurity solutioning, including developing machine learning algorithms, data models, or architecture strategy for cyber defense purposes.
  • Experience with developing and engineering data workflows to merge disparate data sources and draw data-driven insights.
  • Experience with designing and developing automation for security tools management, and creating customized searches and applications.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Provider (CSP) solutions and their resources (Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Platform as aService (PaaS).
  • Experience with Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) tools and capabilities.
  • Ability to leverage a variety of data science capabilities and languages, analyze and resolve critical data issues using various methodologies, and ensure data integrity.
  • Familiarity with host and network-based security technologies.
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks.
  • Ability to apply analytical rigor and statistical/ML methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Ability to perform analysis of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple and complex cybersecurity problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses.
  • Ability to support high-visibility reporting on cybersecurity data through the development of data visualizations and/or dashboards.
  • Must have at least a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification.

  • M9 Solutions’ pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Salary Range
$60,000$180,000 USD
