Our Opportunity:
We are looking for a Data Scientist II at our facility in Bellevue, Washington to design, build, and optimize statistical, machine learning, and AI models to improve forecasting accuracy across various domains.
What You'll Do:
  • Develop and maintain machine learning infrastructure to improve the overall decision-making process by delivering accurate forecasts.
  • Identify and model the factors (e.g., holidays, promotions, Autoship Pull Forward events) that impact business metrics, such as customer unit sales, and quantify their forward-looking impact on the business metrics.
  • Evaluate the performance of forecasting models using metrics such as Bias, MAPE, and others, and iterate based on results.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing products and practices by identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of data science projects, including conception, prototyping, testing, deployment and measuring the business value.
  • Design and implement metrics to monitor model performance, ensuring the integrity of setup and assumptions.
  • Develop automated data pipelines to support the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle, including data cleaning, transformation, model development, hyperparameters tuning, model deployment and monitoring.
  • Apply knowledge of the specific forecasting domain (e.g., weather, finance, supply chain) to improve model relevance and performance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to build and maintain large-scale machine learning models for Autoship demand forecasting, Autoship System-Generated demand forecasting, Pharmacy demand forecasting, etc.
  • Use statistical and analytical methods to provide data-driven insights.
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders to inform and guide business decisions.

What You'll Need:
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Math, Operations Research, or related field and 3 years of experience.
  • Full term of experience must include: statistical modeling techniques including time series analysis, regression analysis, and forecasting methodologies;
  • Understanding of business metrics and KPIs in retail, supply chain or e-commerce environment;
  • Model development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance in production environment;
  • Forecasting and machine learning frameworks (such as Prophet, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or similar);
  • Version control system and collaborative development tools (such as GitHub or similar);
  • Cloud computing platforms and machine learning tools such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, SageMaker;
  • SQL, Python and distributed computing framework including Apache Spark; and
  • Data visualization tools and packages (such as Tableau or similar).
  • The position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
Base Salary Range
$120,500-$193,500 USD
