We are looking for a hands-on Data Scientist to join our Enterprise Data Science team within MetLife's Data & Analytics organization. This role focuses on building proof-of-concept (POC) solutions and accelerating the delivery of AI/ML capabilities across the enterprise. The ideal candidate combines strong coding skills with a passion for turning ideas into working prototypes that demonstrate real business value.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop POC applications and demos to showcase AI/ML capabilities using Python and JavaScript.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to develop AI/ML solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical prototypes that validate feasibility and impact.
- Support solution refinement by gathering feedback and iterating on POCs for usability and scalability.
- Contribute to internal enablement by creating reusable code components and documentation.
Required Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in data science, software engineering, or related technical roles.
- Proficiency in Python (data science libraries, API development) and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end applications or prototypes integrating data, models, and user interfaces.
- Solid understanding ML concepts and practical experience working with model outputs.
- Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AI model and AI capability development.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
- Exposure to MLOps practices or tools.
- Experience working in agile or cross-functional teams.
