About the team and role

Presales and Professional Services Team

The Presales and Professional Services team in the US region plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional client experiences through expert implementation, configuration, and optimization of GBG’s identity verification and fraud prevention solutions. This team partners closely with customers across diverse industries to understand their unique business needs and ensure seamless onboarding and integration of GBG’s technology. With a strong focus on collaboration, technical excellence, and customer success, the Professional Services team is instrumental in driving value realization and long-term client satisfaction. Their consultative approach, combined with deep product knowledge and regional expertise, positions them as trusted advisors and strategic partners throughout the customer journey.

The Role

GBG is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Data Scientist to join our Go-to-Market organization in a newly created role that will directly influence how we demonstrate value to prospective customers. As our first dedicated Data Scientist in this space, you will lead the transformation of manual customer evaluation processes into automated, data-driven insights that accelerate deal velocity and enhance product intelligence. This is a unique opportunity to build scalable analytical frameworks from the ground up, drive ROI storytelling, and shape how our solutions are perceived in the market. You’ll work cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Product, and Customer teams to deliver impactful analysis that informs purchasing decisions and product strategy

This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Travel for team collaboration, process workshops, and stakeholder meetings may be required (estimated 20-25%).

What you will do

Customer Evaluation Analytics

  • Own and optimize manual analysis processes currently managed by Sales Engineering.
  • Translate customer evaluation data into compelling insights and ROI narratives.
  • Develop standardized frameworks to quantify business impact across industries.
  • Create automated reporting for prospect presentations and internal visibility.

Process Automation & Scale

  • Build scalable analytical workflows to replace time-intensive manual tasks.
  • Design templated frameworks adaptable to various customer profiles.
  • Implement quality assurance mechanisms to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Create processes that scale with organizational growth and complexity.

Product Intelligence & Feedback Loops

  • Aggregate insights across evaluations to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Build feedback mechanisms to inform Product roadmap and enhancements.
  • Develop benchmarking capabilities to contextualize customer performance.
  • Present data-driven recommendations for product improvement.
Requirements

Skills we are looking for

Technical Foundation

  • Proficient experience in data science, analytics, or process automation.
  • Proficiency in Python/R, SQL, and statistical libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data stack tools.

Business Acumen

  • Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and customer evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience translating technical findings into business value and ROI frameworks.
  • Ability to create compelling presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling and value proposition storytelling.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and ownership mentality.
  • Effective communicator across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles (e.g., sales engineering, technical consulting).
  • Ability to work independently while building scalable solutions for the broader team.
