This role is part of the Data Engineering organization, which owns the platforms, services, products, and processes that enable customer-oriented, data-driven decision making. You will collaborate with internal customers to drive data products and establish foundational data that serves analytical and business stakeholders across Zillow.

About the role

Are you ready to help redefine real estate? We are seeking a Product Manager who is passionate about solving complex customer problems and building impactful data solutions. In this role, you will:

  • Prioritize and manage backlogs across multiple teams to deliver end-to-end data products.

  • Gather and translate customer needs into comprehensive product requirements for engineering, data science, and end users.

  • Promote self-service data solutions by supporting engineering teams in using platform tools.

  • Clearly communicate product vision and customer problems, fostering collaboration and incorporating diverse perspectives.

  • Define success metrics, analyze data for insights, and drive impactful results.

  • Shape data strategy by aligning customer needs with technical product design.

  • Enable teams to excel by providing direction, removing blockers, and ensuring effective operations.

You Will Get To
  • Work with internal customers to drive the development of data products that support business reporting and analytics.

  • Serve as an advocate for platform capabilities, enabling teams to self-serve their data production and consumption needs.

  • Collaborate across product engineering, data engineering, and data science teams to deliver holistic solutions.

  • Influence data strategy and product design to meet evolving business needs.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $123,200.00 - $196,800.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, focusing on building data products.

  • 1+ years of experience collaborating with data modeling, warehousing, and analytics teams to translate business needs into data solutions.

  • Proven track record of delivering accurate, impactful data product solutions.

  • Skilled at applying both targeted and broad solutions to business problems.

  • Exceptional communicator, mentor, and team leader who inspires and builds consensus.
