About the Role
SafeRide Health is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data systems that power critical business insights and operational workflows. This role plays a key part in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization, including supporting high-impact processes such as complaints tracking and resolution. You’ll work cross-functionally to ensure reliable, efficient, and well-designed data infrastructure that supports SafeRide’s mission to improve access to care.
Job Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows to support analytics and operational use cases
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouse structures to enable efficient reporting and insights
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Compliance, Product, BI) to translate business requirements into data solutions, including support for complaints and regulatory processes
• Improve and maintain data quality, integrity, and governance standards across systems
• Optimize query performance, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure for scalability and efficiency
• Contribute to system design discussions, ensuring data architecture supports long-term business needs and growth
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring reliability and accuracy of datasets used across the organization
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles
• Hands-on experience with data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing
• Experience with analytics datastores such as Redshift, Snowflake, SQL Server, etc.
• Experience working with Cloud warehousing solutions such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factor, GCP BigQuery, etc.
• Experience with BI and reporting tools such as QuickSight, Tableau, or PowerBI.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong understanding of system design and data architecture principles
• Experience supporting operational workflows or compliance-driven processes (e.g., complaints, claims, or regulatory reporting)
• Experience working with multiple database platforms and very large-scale datasets
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
