As a Data Engineer II, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the core data infrastructure of our platform. You will take ownership of high-performance data pipelines, drive technical excellence in our data lake and warehouse architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions that support our growth and compliance needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design & Develop Data Systems — Build scalable, resilient data pipelines and downstream architectures supporting analytics, mobile, and third-party B2B integrations.
- Optimize Performance, Security & Compliance — Enhance system performance, implement security best practices, and ensure adherence to AML, KYC, data privacy, and gaming regulations.
- Data Infrastructure & Analytics — Develop and maintain data pipelines for analytics, fraud detection, and regulatory reporting downstream of production data sources.
- Building data ingestions into a data lake
- Technical Ownership & Collaboration — Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, product managers, software engineers, and DevOps teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Operational Excellence — Participate in incident response, monitoring, and root cause analysis to ensure system stability and security.
- Mentorship & Innovation — Share knowledge with team members, promote best practices, and explore emerging technologies relevant to gaming analytics.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years data engineering experience
- Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling high-performance data systems.
- Strong expertise in Python for backend development, automation, and data processing.
- Experience with Athena and SQL
- Experience with Snowflake, Redshift and BigQuery
- Experience with Apache Airflow/Data Orchestration Tools
- Experience with AWS Kinesis
- Proficiency in CI/CD processes and infrastructure automation within cloud environments.
- Experience in data pipeline architecture, analytics, and data warehouse/lake management.
- Ability to work independently on complex refactors and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Familiarity with cloud tooling (e.g., AWS), compliance (AML, KYC, data privacy), and system performance tuning.
- Excellent collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
This is a Hybrid position with Monday through Thursday in our Boston office near South Station and the option of working remotely on Fridays.
