YOUR CAPCO DAY

  • Engage business stakeholders to determine which tables and datasets are needed, identify and assess source systems, and design and build the corresponding virtual tables in Denodo.
  • Publish secure, reliable services, define caching and freshness strategies, and document lineage and data contracts to meet agreed service-level objectives.

YOUR CAPCO FIT

  • Practical experience with Denodo as a data virtualization platform: connecting heterogeneous sources (including Snowflake), designing base and derived virtual views, defining caching and freshness, optimizing push-down execution, publishing services (for example Java Database Connectivity, Open Database Connectivity, and Representational State Transfer), and implementing security at the semantic layer.
  • Proficient in data discovery and profiling: evaluate source systems, assess data quality, interpret metadata, map business terms to physical fields, prototype joins and aggregations, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Strong Structured Query Language skills for querying, diagnostics, and performance analysis.
  • Experience defining semantic models, dataset naming conventions, data contracts, documentation, and lineage.
  • Observability and monitoring of semantic-layer usage and performance; cost awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Governance knowledge: role-based access control, masking, and row or column policies applied in the semantic layer.
  • Versioning and deployment: Git-based version control, environment promotion, and continuous integration and continuous delivery for virtualization artifacts.
  • Lead stakeholder interviews and requirement workshops; translate needs into clear dataset specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Create mock tables, data dictionaries, and clear design documents; run demos and iterate based on feedback.
  • Drive user acceptance testing, training, and onboarding for analysts and business users.
  • Collaborate across platform, engineering, and analytics teams; share knowledge and support governance processes.
  • Results orientation with measurable service-level objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in English plus fluent German (for Zürich based candidates) or fluent French (for Geneva based candidates).

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
