Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, is seeking a Data and Integration Architect to join our growing team.
A Data and Integration Architect designs, plans, implements, and manages solutions that enable different systems and data sources to work together seamlessly, defining integration strategies, selecting appropriate technologies like APIs and middleware, and ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable data exchange within an organization. This individual will be responsible for the development and maintenance of application software for various systems.
How You Will Contribute:
Establish and maintain data integrity standards that ensure the accuracy, consistency and security of data across different platforms.
Works with product, design, and other team members to identify the functional and non-functional requirements of the feature being developed.
Strong understanding of Database Design Principles, Data Modeling and Data Warehousing including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, industry leading Cloud Storage solutions, Business Intelligence platforms, dashboards, data mining and visualization tools (Power BI).
Deep understanding of Integration Architectures, including development and maintenance of API and Event standards, Data Architecture standards, System Integration standards and Governance Frameworks for managing a large and complex data and integration portfolio.
Familiarity with common system integration methods and technologies including web services, micro services, Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), API gateways, MQ message and other messaging and streaming technologies and business process automation tools.
Fully competent in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline technologies and tooling for automated build, delivery and regression testing.
Leverages technical knowledge and experiences to develop new or improved architectural approaches, functional features and components for applications solutions, from design through deployment.
Participates in team activities and contributes to discussions, such as production support triage, incident management, code reviews, architecture reviews, and technology standards definitions.
Provides guidance, recommendations, and leadership with practical feedback for the optimal use, development and maintenance of application features and solutions.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
10+ years of experience with database development technologies, including MySQL, Oracle DB, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or DB2.
Five plus years of personal insurance business knowledge.
Proven ability to design and manage APIs and event-driven architectures.
Hands on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) tools and automated testing frameworks.
Strong knowledge of modern integration architectures and languages.
Familiarity with Cloud based integration platforms.
Excellent interpersonal skills required with strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Natural tendency to be curious, positive and creative.
Ability to collaborate and work with third-party solution providers and integration parties for the design and development of solutions, including offshore partners.
Ability to work in a fast pace, growing and changing environment embracing DevOps and Continuous Delivery practices.

Pay Range
175000.00 - 180000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
