JOB SUMMARY:

The Data and Financial Analyst maintains databases that support our web tool and all the services provided to clients. Secondary functions include receiving data from clients, loading data into databases using SQL and validating the results for accuracy and completeness. The Analyst supports clients to provide data, answer questions, and manage tasks and follow-ups conversations.
The Analyst uses financial model functions to create analyses to support client-facing projects.

Job Summary:

The Data and Financial Analyst loads data into databases that support our web tool and consulting services provided to clients. This position is responsible for receiving data from clients, loading data into databases using SQL and validating the results for accuracy and completeness. Primary duties also include answering client and internal questions, managing tasks, and follow-ups. Secondary functions may include producing reports to support pricing projects and retrieving and loading data from government websites.

  • Provide data support for the successful delivery of services to clients including data acquisition, validation, sorting and analysis, and day-to-day operational functions.

  • Import client data into databases using SQL and proprietary tools.

  • Validates and tests to ensure accuracy and quality of data.

  • Use SQL to maintain and update databases that support our web tool and services.

  • Prepare professional and accurate spreadsheets and Word documents.

  • Tracks client projects and tasks

  • Build relationships with staff and clients to ensure client expectations and deliverables are accurate and timely.

  • Work with the Financial Analytics team to collect data and develop materials for client presentations and analysis.

  • Retrieves data from CMS and imports it into SQL databases.

  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a healthcare setting working with chargemasters and healthcare data

    ·        

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, HIT, or related field, preferred

    ·        

  • Experience executing SQL commands and writing basic queries

    ·        

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    ·        

  • Experience and knowledge with healthcare data, specifically chargemasters, financials, and patient accounting data

    ·        

  • Knowledge of hospital operations and hospital chargemaster data elements (revenue codes, CPT/HCPCS codes, Bill Types, etc.)

    ·        

  • Experience with electronic health record systems (Cerner, Meditech, EPIC and others)

    ·        

  • Critical thinker with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    ·        

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment to meet deadlines

    ·        

  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate with cross-functional teams

    ·        

  • Exceptional customer service and follow-up skills

The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, incumbents are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Incumbent may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
