DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Information Technology department provides strategic direction and day-to-day IT operational, software and emerging technology supporting the Red Sox, Fenway Sports Management, the Red Sox Foundation, and FSG Real Estate. Responsibilities include support for corporate and ballpark infrastructure, systems architecture, networks, computer and auxiliary operations, desktop support, data and cyber security, and broadcast cabling and related infrastructure. Provides applications development and support for corporate systems, MLB Ballpark and fan engagement apps, and systems and data architecture.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Information Technology department is seeking a part-time Data Analyst to ensure the accuracy and consistency of our data across multiple Business systems. This role will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling data generated during employee onboarding with downstream systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and helping establish foundational data governance policies. As our data quality stabilizes, the role will transition into other areas of the business and spend time gathering requirements, documenting processes, creating data flow diagrams, and coordinating with both stakeholders and developers in an Agile environment.
The hourly rate for this position is $28.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure data quality and integrity of key IT systems and services, particularly as it pertains to the onboarding and offboarding of employee-related content.
- Work with internal teams, particularly People and Culture and IT on data process flow, reporting, and ongoing improvements.
- Support the Project Manager in planning, tracking, and coordinating initiatives across Business Systems.
- Assess existing employee onboarding/offboarding processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align on data standards and best practices.
- Proactively identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and implement solutions.
- Create dashboards or reports to track data accuracy and integrity over time.
- Present findings and recommendations for continuous improvement to leadership.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, People & Culture, and IT stakeholders.
- Ensure clear understanding of requirements, timelines, and responsibilities across multiple stakeholders for projects.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure quality documentation for new releases, release notes, and training material, when appropriate.
- Test internal and third-party software to identify defects and ensure high-quality deployments.
- Help oversee IT administrative functions, including vendor management, data integrity, business analysis, and testing.
CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, effectively communicate risks, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and related tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Exposure to and comfort with third-party software and light application administration.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees.
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid setting, collaborating with our small but fast-moving team both in-office and remotely.
