The Role

Monarch is looking for a Data Analyst to support our growth & marketing teams. You will enable data-driven decision making by building timely and accurate dashboards and reports, diving deep into campaign performance, and contributing to our data infrastructure. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable in ambiguous situations, and can build something new when what you need doesn’t already exist.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with growth team to analyze marketing initiatives, build reporting and dashboards, and bring new datasets into our data warehouse

  • Monitor performance and provide insight into key metrics such as CAC, ROAS, and conversion rates

  • Provide data and insight into business decisions and share results with broader company and leadership team

  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and growth modeling efforts

  • Analyze active user behavior as well as our onboarding funnel and dive into anomalies to understand changes in the business

  • Build new datasets and pipelines while also helping to maintain/update our existing data infrastructure

What You'll Bring:

  • 3+ years in a data analyst (or similar) role, preferably at a growth stage company

  • Strong understanding of core marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, conversion rates, ROAS, etc)

  • Naturally curious and comfortable with ambiguity. Able to balance speed vs. accuracy and can make recommendations on the best approach to solving a problem

  • Able to translate business needs into analytical requirements and explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders

  • Expert level SQL - you are comfortable not just with selecting data but with creating new tables, advanced features like window functions, and writing clear and succinct code

  • Experience with a business intelligence/data visualization tool (we use Omni) to build reports and dashboards

  • Experience with DBT (or a similar data transformation tool) to create and refine data models

  • Experience with in-platform marketing analytics tools (Google Ads, Meta, etc)

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in consumer subscription analytics

  • Experience in an early stage, high growth startup

  • Experience with Python or R

  • Stipend to set-up your ideal working environment.

  • Competitive Benefit Plans for employees based on your location (e.g. in the US we offer: Medical, dental and vision benefits and the ability to contribute to a 401k plan).

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • 3 day weekend every month! We take off the “First Friday” every month to focus on rest, recuperation, or just having fun!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
