The Opportunity: Business Intelligence Analyst III
WEX is seeking a motivated and experienced Business Intelligence Analyst III to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in turning raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will partner with various business units to understand their challenges, define reporting requirements, and build compelling data visualizations and reports. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a strong business mindset, capable of working independently and guiding others to deliver high-quality data products.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform complex data analysis, leveraging SQL to query and manipulate large datasets. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence solutions to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide business insights.
Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with business stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure that BI solutions meet their needs. Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and compelling stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Data Visualization: Design and build intuitive and aesthetically pleasing dashboards using tools like Power BI or ThoughtSpot. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to data collection, analysis, and reporting processes. Automate recurring reports and analyses to increase efficiency and scalability.
Mentorship & Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert on data and BI tools. Mentor junior analysts, provide guidance on best practices, and contribute to the overall data literacy of the organization.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a business intelligence or data analyst role.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL is essential. Hands-on experience with a major BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot). Experience with data platform technologies and concepts and some knowledge of a scripting language like Python or R is a plus.
Analytical Abilities: Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to business stakeholders.
Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business operations and the ability to connect data insights to business outcomes.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
