Description

Quantum Sky is searching for a Cybersecurity DevSecOps Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate advanced cybersecurity infrastructure supporting Security Operations Center (SOC) missions. This role sits at the intersection of cybersecurity, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, software development, and SOC operations. We are looking for an engineer who understands how modern security infrastructure should be built and operated, not simply someone who checks every technology box. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in or supporting SOC environments and has built secure, automated cloud infrastructure using modern DevSecOps practices. You should be comfortable moving between architecture, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, software development, cybersecurity operations, and emerging AI-assisted engineering workflows. We value demonstrated technical depth, strong engineering judgment, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly over an arbitrary number of years working with a specific tool.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, deploy, and operate cybersecurity infrastructure supporting SOC operations.
  • Apply DevSecOps principles to security infrastructure, software, and operational workflows.
  • Build and maintain secure infrastructure-as-code using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Design, implement, and maintain GitOps and CI/CD pipelines supporting cybersecurity infrastructure and applications.
  • Architect and operate secure cloud environments across AWS, GCP, and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop automation that improves SOC analyst workflows, detection engineering, incident response, infrastructure management, and operational efficiency.
  • Build and integrate software, APIs, scripts, and automation supporting cybersecurity missions.
  • Leverage modern AI and agentic development tools to accelerate engineering, automation, analysis, and deployment workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI-enabled tooling to SOC operations and cybersecurity engineering.
  • Implement security controls throughout the software and infrastructure development lifecycle.
  • Partner with SOC analysts, cybersecurity engineers, software developers, cloud engineers, and mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Evaluate new technologies and determine where they can materially improve cybersecurity operations.
  • Establish engineering standards, reusable architectures, technical documentation, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Provide  technical leadership and mentorship across cybersecurity, cloud, automation, and software engineering initiatives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • The strongest candidate may not have spent ten years using every technology listed in this description.
  • We are looking for an engineer who can demonstrate that they have built things, automated things, secured things, and operated things at scale.
  • You may have deep expertise in one cloud platform and the ability to rapidly translate that knowledge to another. You may have several years of intensive Terraform and GitOps experience rather than a decade. You may come from a cybersecurity background, a cloud engineering background, a software engineering background, or a DevSecOps background.
  • What matters most is technical depth, engineering judgment, adaptability, and a track record of delivering secure, automated systems.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a USC with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance due to federal facing customers.
  • Significant hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, software development, or closely related technical disciplines.
  • Direct experience working within, building, supporting, or integrating with a Security Operations Center (SOC) or comparable cybersecurity operations environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud-based infrastructure-as-code and GitOps environments, with proven experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code technologies.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation technologies such as Ansible.
  • Strong experience with AWS, GCP, and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience developing software, scripts, APIs, or automation using one or more modern programming languages.
  • Experience incorporating security into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure deployments, and software development workflows.
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted and/or agentic development tools and the ability to use them effectively in daily engineering workflows.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity architecture, cloud security, automation, and secure software engineering principles.
  • Ability to independently evaluate complex technical problems and design practical, scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, cybersecurity professionals, mission stakeholders, and decision-makers.

Desired:

  • Professional-level or advanced certification in AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience architecting or modernizing enterprise SOC capabilities.
  • Experience with Bindplane or similar technologies
  • Experience developing AI-enabled cybersecurity tools, workflows, or automation.
  • Experience integrating large language models, AI agents, or machine learning services into engineering or cybersecurity workflows.
  • Experience with GitLab, GitHub, or similar DevSecOps platforms.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native application architectures.
  • Experience designing resilient, highly available cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Advanced cybersecurity, DevSecOps, cloud, software engineering, or infrastructure automation certifications.
